Welcome to an all new world !

A brief introduction to the background of the world and the major 'players' who decide its fate :-

The world of this novel is one which is identical to our own in various respects such as in terms of technological progress , prevailing social mentality and so on.

Unlike multiple continents there is a single 'super-continent ' which is divided into regions governed by multiple city-states.

The protagonist belongs to one of these city states which can be described as moderate in terms of factors such as development , strength etc.

Similar to our own world this world has a rich tradition of folklore which has been passed through the ages though with the onset of the technological era most of them have been dismissed as mere 'superstition' having no rational basis.

Unfortunately for these sceptics all of the legends of the past are very much real ; just have faded away from the minds and hearts of others living on only as ghosts in the shadows which even now are responsible for the fate of the world they live in.

For most ordinary folk this strange world shall never intersect with their lives however under certain extremely rare situations some of them are able to harness the other-worldly 'origin' energy and are able to surpass the limits of mortality they thus enter this all new world as transcenders.

The Major 'Players' :-

The 'Endemics':-

Refers to the 'natives' of this world whether Human or Non-Human . Compared to the distant past when they were the most powerful , they have long since fallen from their pedestal . Even as their members get fewer and fewer , infighting between different factions has not stopped such as between the Human and Non-Human factions or even among the Humans ( such as between the different mortal city states or between the various 'Transcender' factions ) this has caused their strength to drain rapidly.

The 'Others' :-

Refers to those who come from the 'beyond' ; a realm rumoured to be beyond the dimensions of space and time that enclose this world. It is acknowledged as a matter of fact that it is impossible for the others to come to the world with their bodies intact hence they do so in the form of 'souls' which subsequently possess the bodies of the endemics . Most are forced to adapt to an all new world and eventually come to consider themselves as a part of it but there are a few 'radicals' amongst them who are extremely dangerous ; armed with the knowledge of the future itself they do their best to change the destiny of the world itself so that it suits their purposes . Apart from an extreme few most of them 'radical' or 'liberal' are extremely ambitious and do their best to amass power thus making individual members among the most powerful. Luckily for the other factions the 'others' rarely, if ever , bind together due to them being 'highly incompatible' with others of the same kind.

The 'Gamers':-

They are a special category of the others who often tend to view the world in terms of a game such as through terms like stats , mobs , levels and XP which make no sense to the members belonging to the other factions . Often obnoxious they are extremely detached regarding their actions to the point where it is as if they do not consider the other denizens of the world as 'living' . This has caused them to be ostracised by the other factions to the point few would hardly dare make any contact with them.

The 'Deluded':-

Refers to a certain rare kind of endemics who claim to have witnessed the future before 'returning' to the past. They are an extremely rare and mysterious faction and not much is known about them . While most who claim to belong to this group have shown to be hypocrites there are indeed a few among them who could be found once in a blue moon who really are able to substantiate their claims. Their knowledge of the future is far stronger than what is known by the 'others' due to having 'played' a more active role in it which makes them even more dangerous in some respects compared to them.

The 'Wraiths':-

They are the ghosts of an ancient era. Sole survivors of an aeon long gone who have had the opportunity to be 'reborn' in a more modern age.with their memories sealed or intact While disadvantaged in some respects compared to the other factions they more than make up for those with their prolific minds and esoteric knowledge which has long since been lost and used carefully can create wonders. Compared to the other factions the wraiths show greater camaraderie amongst their own and the least attachment to the world itself which can make them extremely terrifying.

Those from 'Above':-

Mystical people who are even rare to witness than the deluded ; those who hail from the 'Above' supposedly come from outside the world hailing from the vast cosmos and from higher dimensions which they refer to as the 'higher realms'; few if any could be seen at the world at a particular period and according to an ancient observation , their arrival predates the onset of tumultuous times. Similar to the 'others' because of some unknown 'restrictions' they are unable to materialise their forms fully and instead are forced to resort to projections through a mystical dimension known as the 'Astral realm' . Because of these restrictions even though having the maximum capability among all they are in practice the 'weakest' in a certain sense . However in certain extreme situations they are capable of tearing down the restrictions binding them are shown to be capable of performing great feats of might though this comes at a cost of being 'banished ' from the world.

The 'Zepo'

The most mystical faction among all ; nothing concrete is known regarding them except for the fact that members of this organisation make it their business to ensure that the 'fate ' of the world remains as it is . Some suspect that it is an organisation created by those 'above' however this has never been proved.Their actions makes them inherently antagonistic to several of the other factions nevertheless being of a passive nature they do not intrude in the business of other factions unless the 'contamination' is absolutely serious. The Zepo often arrive unexpectedly and are extremely ruthless and clinical in their actions . They also posses immense influence over both worlds of the Mortals and of the Transcenders and are regarded as a 'policing organisation' which keep the unruly elements in line and prevent them from spilling over to the mortal world to spread their heinous agenda.
