I was having a great moment with Alex before the colossal bitch walked over to us. I found everything about her repulsing. She's been nothing but rude and condescending since I met her. She represents everything that hate about this place. The ones with powerful animuses are feared, mostly because of how they treat everyone else. Layla used to hate people who used their power to bully others, but now that she's powerful, she doesn't see the issue with it. She really has changed.
"What are you two doing?" she asked.
"We were having a nice moment," I hissed in response.
"Well, our conversation isn't over," she said angrily.
Alex grabbed my hand and got up from his chair, and began to drag me away.
"It is now," he said in an eerily calm way. He seemed upset, but I had to fix this.
"Alex, it's okay," I said, sighing, "I have to deal with this anyway."
He let go of my hand, and I went back into the room with Layla. Her spear appeared in her hands, and her armor appeared moments later.
"That shadow dweller is too powerful for me to handle alone. We need to take it on together. Your animus can freeze him, and I can dispose of the host. This way, the shadow dweller will be vulnerable enough to capture," she said.
"You can't just DISPOSE of the host, who, by the way, is my friend! I thought you'd at least have a sane plan, but I'm not going along with this bullshit." I growled, glaring at her.
"Well, we can't just do nothing. The host will die anyway if the shadow dweller isn't removed. His body and mind are just, well... too weak. The shadow dweller's magic will corrupt his soul and burn away his body, so I'd rather kill him before that happens. There's no other way, understand?" she said, her spear now raised, and pointing at me.
"I know that shadow dwellers can be removed from human hosts. You just want to murder my friend," I accused angrily.
"That specific shadow dweller has a history of escaping when we attempt that. He's alluded elders for at least a thousand years. We have to act now, before he disappears again," she said, starting to walk towards the door.
"I'm not going to help you kill my friend," I said firmly.
"Fine. I'm leaving. This has been a waste of time," She glowered.
"Don't let the door hit you on the way out," I snarled.
The door slammed as she left. I took a moment to breath. She just brings out this uncontrollable rage inside me every time she speaks. I just want her to shut her fucking mouth and leave my home. I was trying to get one moment of peace, but I heard yelling in the other room. Great.
I took a deep breath, bringing time to a halt. Everything around me was frozen in place. I wearily opened the door, and inspected the scene in front of me. Crystal seemed like she was tugging on Layla's arm. Alex was on his way to the room. Layla had her spear to Ayro's throat. It had almost went clean through his neck, and he had already started bleeding. There was blood on his shirt already.
I knew that I could stop time, and turning back time would be the best way to reverse the situation. The only problem is, I have no idea how to do that. I decided to try to go with my best guess for this. I closed my eyes and pictured the moment Layla walked out of my door. I was instantaneously in the spot I was a minute ago. Layla walked out of the room, slamming the door. I rushed after her, and got there fast enough to stop her. Time rapidly came to a halt. The blade was close to Ayro, but hadn't caused him to bleed yet.
I snatched the spear from her hands, and dragged her out of my apartment. I closed the door behind me, then put her own spear to her neck. Time returned to normal, and put the spear even closer to her, barely grazing her skin.
"I think you forgot that I control time," I growled, "And I'm sure you won't forget.
"I had that spear through his throat! Stopping time couldn't have helped him! He's going to die!"
"Then you truly did underestimate me. I just had to go in reverse," I said menacingly.
I lifted the spear, walking inside my door and taking her weapon with me. I looked at her one last time.
"You could have changed this place for the better, but you just had to be a hypocrite," I said, shutting the door behind me.
