I wake up to my mom calling me for dinner. When had I fallen asleep? I had no idea. I gathered my thoughts for a moment, then I stood up. I heard my mom calling again. I tried to tell her I'd be down, but the words got stuck in my throat. Fuck. Talk, stupid. I opened my mouth to speak and began to cough. Ugh. I hurried down to the kitchen and grabbed a glass to fill with water.
"Why didn't you answer me when I called?" My mother looked at me with concern in here eyes. Oh no. She's worried. Don't be worried. I gulped down the water and spoke weakly, "Sorry mom, I... Had my headphones on. That's all." She smiled. "Oh, alright. Sit down. I'll serve you and your father dinner in a second." I poured myself another glass of water and sat down at the table.
My stomach growled and my dad laughed. "Damn, you must be hungry. Sounds like a whale looking for a mate down there." I let out a half hearted laugh. "Yeah, I'm starving. Haha." I looked down at my glass of water just before my mom brings us our food. "God, that smells amazing. Thanks mom." She hands me my plate, then hands my dad his. "Yeah, it looks amazing too. Just like you." As she was walking to her seat with her plate, he smacked her ass. "Gross." I made a fake gagging noise and cringed to make them laugh. "You guys are my parents. That's Nasty." I smiled faintly at them. They smiled back, and at the same time they both said,
"So, Marcus, we should have a talk about something important." Anxiety sets itself in and I struggle to keep my breathing steady, so I take a sip of my water. What now? Please don't be something bad. Oh, shit. It's something bad. Fuck. Welp... Here goes. I took a deep breath. "Alright. About what?" They looked at each other briefly, then looked back at me. Shitballs. What is it? Just tell me already and get it over with. They glanced back at each other. Fuck my life.
