"Come on, Eva... When are you gonna let me out so we can talk like reasonable.. Ish adults?! "Stretching my neck from inside another cell, three days had passed since I have seen sunlight. "Urgh... Think about the future, me and you and all the little precious, annoying little things running about outside these walls... Eva... Yo-hoo?! "
"Silence! "Dropping my low gaze towards Avabel sitting just outside my cell, she had begun organizing her report while keeping a sharp eye on me as she just happened to be the only one stubborn enough to keep me in check. "After the stuff you pulled the days past, I quite honestly don't understand why her Majesty hasn't had your head on a pike. "
"Oh, come now, Eva... Don't be like that. We've been stuck together for three whole days and I think I'm already waking up to you. "
"Ha! Really? "Smirking smugly as she ignored me and continued writing in her old journal, I scoffed as my chains rattled while I stood up. "Tell me, boy-"
"I have a name, you know. Please, consider using it. "
"Shiro... Better? In any case, I have absolutely no idea where you came from or why on hells you are abnormally strong, but don't think that has any bearing on the pain I can bring you should you try to escape me. "
"Ugh... Here we go again with the bravado! Evabel? Are you really that fond of me that you just can't help but keep an eye on me... Aah! Don't answer, I think I can take a pretty good guess. Hmm-ouch! "Flinching as she threw a tin cup at my face while using all her strength, the cup bent into a single plate as it fell towards the ground. "You can seriously take a couple of lessons on treating a valley guest you know... "
"Yeah, well considering you are by far the only living, breathing monster who can take on my entire divine strength head-on, you will live with a couple of personal lessons in how to address a lady, Shiro. "
"Huh, unbelievable... "Turning, I extended my arms and yawned as I accidentally chipped one of the chains around my ankle. "Oh-oops, my bad. Hey, 'My Fair Lady' one of the chains snapped again. Whoever is in the market for producing these chains, they might just have to send me commissions for giving them all these new requests. "
"Ugh?! My goodness, Shiro! Again?! Really? We just got that chain replaced this morning and three times yesterday and five the days before... "Standing from her desk, Evabel unlocked the cell door and walked over to my ankle where she clicked her tounge after seeing the extent of the damage. "I may have to put in another rush order in the logs and request another set from Savilla's again. Ugh, I just can't seem to catch a moment to breathe these days. "
"Hmm? You 'could' just let me go you know... Save everyone the time and energy of 'keeping me in heck' and all. Oo-"Slouching as Eva struck a blow that rocked the cell and knocked me back a step. "Right, got it! I'll shut up now. "
Standing up, Eva walked out and closed the cell door and called for a nearby guard to deliver her request through the chain of command. Resting on the cell doors railings, I watched and smiled as the guard shuttered from meeting just my gaze.
"Move it along, soldier! We haven't got all day! "
"Right away, Lady Evabel! "Turning sharply and leaving the dead end corridor, Evabel sat back down as she took a moment to rest her weary head.
"Life as my personal prison guard not treating you right? Hmm, how I feel for your pain. "
"Quiet. You are my 'pain' and I have to be the one to do this as to keep you from going on a rampage... or worse. "
"Uh, I am hurt! You have that little faith in me, Eva? Here I thought we were bonding. Ha' how silly of me. "Sarcastically smirking, I spun around and took a seat beside the cell doors. "You know, once upon a time, I was just like everyone else... Normal, weak and had my whole life ahead of me to look forward to... Growing up and experiencing what life had to offer. It was... Nice. "
Lifting her head, I dropped my gaze towards the floor as Eva's soft voice echoed soundly on my ears.
"What happened? "Shaking my head lightly as if I didn't know, I scoffed gently and spoke.
"This... All of 'this' happened. One minute I was walking down the road with my annoying little sister and the next thing I know I fall on top of an adorable demon girl. It's been almost half a month I think... Since I've been here and... You want to know what shocks me most of all? "
Gulping, Eva asked gently as if she were whispering and I answered was I turned to meet her gaze.
"I-... I miss my home and family... I miss the world I was born and grew up in and in spite of it all... I missed the normal, dorky human kid I used to be. The people who treated me with warmth and kindness-they... They aren't here-here... They are with me but, at the sale. Time its like they are so far away. "
"You said before when we spoke after... You know the whole incident with blowing a massive hole with your sneeze, you spoke of another world... What is it like? "
"Aah... Its-Its almost similar to this one expect we have only one moon and one sun orbiting our-... Sorry, it's just very similar but different. Unlike here, it's always bright blue and everything had its own color on the normal days. Here it's like someone put a giant red slide in front of the light every single day. "
"Your home, what was it like? "Turning my gaze up towards the ceiling and then down to Eva as I smiled and turned away from her while remaining silent. "Right... You don't completely trust me yet but you know what, that's fine. I feel like we made steady progress towards building a friendship today... It seems the sundown is upon us in a few moments. I'll have a guard deliver your meal. "
"Eva... "After hearing Evabel stand from her desk, she promptly answered with a slight hum. "I'm not from this world.... But I can at least tell you I have no business with this place and everywhere beyond these walls. My only aim in life is to get back home. "
"Yes. You made that clear already. I'm sure I can ask around a few close acquaintances to dig up any information regarding your... 'situation'. Okay. "
"Yeah... Thanks. "After a moment of silence, heed footsteps shuffled as she walked down the corridor to wait for my meal to arrive like the past few days.
~•~•~•~•~
Opening my eyes in the middle of the night, I heard a strange array of sounds off in the distance. Loud noises that echoed as if it was chaos outside, I sat up from my bed and walked over to find Evabel was missing from her post. Looking around and turned sharply as I heard dozens of hundreds of agonizing screaming in my ears, I turned around and froze when only Evabels voice was the only one strong enough to silence the others.
"Evabel! "Breaking the stone floor in a single jump, I broke through the walls and melted the iron cell bars as I pierced through stone and granite until I found myself falling overhead the entire kingdom.
Seeing it was set ablaze and various locations up in smoke, my eyes automatically adjusted to the night and was able to see soldiers fighting as well as people fleeing. Hearing the sharp clash of silver swords hitting one another and as well as witnessing sudden floods of purple clouds exploding to cause the fires, I turned my gaze to where I could head Evabel.
Narrowing my gaze miles away, I then spotted Evabel fighting off a dozen armored soldiers as she was covered in blood and wounded while she defended a single mother with her two kids in her arms. Clenching my teeth, I dropped towards the ground and exploded into a rapid storm of violent wind. Breaking through the sound barrier and reducing the townhouses to scraps, I could cleclearoy see Evabel getting overwhelmed and knocked backwards.
In my haze, my eyes began to flicker and burn as I was a great distance away while still increasing my speed. Shooting through the town and through various stores and homes, I felt time slow even while I was going rapidly fast.
Evabel fought with all her might until one of the enemy soldiers managed to knock away her sword. They then began to bring down their swords as Evabel covered the single mother and her kids with her entire body.
The instance I snapped to a full stop, was the same instance time completely froze and I was feet away while I watched the tips of their swords pierce her beaten silver armor.
At that moment, time flowed without direction as I opened my eyes and found myself standing beside myself as everything was stopped in place.
"What-... "
"You've made it! "Sharply turning, I looked at a blank space and turned back around where I was surprised to find an unfamiliar stranger. "It is-You have no grasp of what an honor and delight it is to finally meet you... Master. "
"What-No! No, please just no. I don't want any more 'voodoo' whatever having to do with supernatural things... I-I have to get back to my body, I have to save Evabel-"Feeling a sharp sting on my cheek and turning as the woman did not move an inch, time sped up and I recalled the slap she gave me however, only after several minutes.
"Calm yourself, Master. I mean you no harm. In short, I will tell you the real reason why you have been brought here. Would you care to know or would you like for me to save your... 'that'...? "
"Her name is Evabel and I have been warned not to listen to strangers with mystical powers and stuff... So-"
"Seeing how much emotion you are feeling at this very moment, I am surprised how well you can handle the strain-"
"Agh! Arrgh! AGH! What-whats wrong with me!? "
"That feeling you are experiencing is the after effect of using an ancient form of angelic magic. You see Master, I have been requested by my dear Father to give my life in service of you. Shiro Mazuki. "
"'Father'?! What? "
"In any case, I must apologize for taking so long to reach you however, due to my ascendance onto the 'land of the mortals', I have been struggling to communicate with you simply because we are in different plains. Father had not made himself clear of this and I appear to have run into a bit of trouble. No matter! We are now reunited as we should have from the start. "
"Listen lady, I have no clue as to who you or what your father wants. Right now, I just want to save my friend. "
"I see... Um, hmm... Y-Your friend, she is more important that I and of course. Master would want to save her himself. "Turning towards the ground, I blinked and she was suddenly beside me.
"Uh!? "
"Its not that simple, Master. You may have my eternal love and undying feelings for you, but I will not become second when it comes to your affections... Even if I must remove-"
"You touch her and I'll end you myself! "Seeing my stern gaze, the world we were in shook and trembled as the lady turned with a bright smile and gasped. "Either help me get back or stay out of my way. "
"Aah... How delicious you really Master... Hmm! You are the first man of any race to speak to me in such an... ' intoxicating ' manner. Very well, I shall save your friend if however, you make me a promise as from now on, we will be together forever until the end of time... I want you to harbor my feelings within yourself. "
"What does that mean? "
"I shall engrave my family crest into your chest and become your faithful servant for all eternity... Father forbid me to ever use the family crest on anyone... Yet, how have I longed for a man worthy of my love. "
"So... If I do what you want, you can help save her? "Staring at Evabel, I gulped and took less than a few seconds as I took off my shirt and removed my tank top. "Do whatever you have to, just help me save her. "
"Seeing the extent of loyalty toward that mortal is... 'Unpleasant' to say the least however, I shall take pleasure in binding my soul into yours. Lay down, my sweet Master... This will be a cruel and terrible spell... We both may end up dead should it not work... Hmm! But I am sure our love will help us through! "
"Wait, what!? Agh! "
For several seconds, I felt a lifetimes worth of pain an agony as if my every blood cell had exploded and my very skin was burning with an unending point of Sharp needles of ice in every pore of my body. My screaming feel into silence as only my mouth and body shook the same as the lady's.
A Pitch black light, darker than shadows themselves enveloped both me and the woman as our veins became fused with blood that burned as hot as streams of molten lava. Pushing onto my chest, I turned my tearing gaze towards Evabel and while I violently trembled, my heart sunk as I turned to the woman and locked my gaze with hers.
Snapping up and inches apart, we both became coated in a cloud of darkness as the only light we could see was the light of our veins in our faces and emanating from our bodies.
Before long, a bright fluorescent light soon escaped from our lips and bonded together. Within a second that felt like an hour, I realized myself and what I had to do.
Upon seeing the woman in utter agony, I cracked my bones and even my teeth while pulling all her pain she was experiencing into myself. Bearing both made me mad and no matter how insane I must had been, the woman's tears began to all as she had felt true pain in seeing what I had done.
Holding my face and unable to fight my control over the spell, it all soon quickly ended as the woman was pushed out from the darkness and outside into the frozen world.
Hearing my broken bones crackle and snap back into place, I turned towards the darkness and saw the light from my hands.
Feeling the full extent of my new power, I felt the weight of the world below my feet as I could see farther into the universe and deeper into the darkness than ever before.
"Cool! "Releasing me from the dark cloud, I soon emerged and lightly touched onto the road as the woman was short of breath.
Looking at myself from the reflection in the woman's scarlet-black colored eyes, I saw myself. With horns growing out my Head, eyes as deep red and black than anything I had ever seen before. A body with scales and armor-like skin as well as smooth clouds of pure dark magic swaying around my person like a warm winter coat.
Exhaling only a slight gust, I felt the world shake just below my bare feet as my clothes had long since been ripped to shreds. Turning towards Evabel, the woman abruptly gasped when she suddenly saw me disappear from sight.
Meeting my gaze as I looked down at Evabel, the world soon shook as I swiftly disarmed and rounded up all the enemy soldiers as well as mages into a single cluster. Putting out the fires and even restoring the damage done to the kingdom, I soon fell cover as the woman caught me and saw I was spilling dark blood from my mouth.
"Master, even with all your strength. Time is not something even someone as powerful as you can manipulate for as long as you have. Please, let us restore the pace and get you to safety. "
"Not... Yet! "Walking on my own feet, I walked up towards the castle walls that had been destroyed and even managed to bind the massive enemy army in place as I raised my hands and was pushed under insane gravity of magic I was set to use.
Growling, I put in my every inch of power into restoring the demolished walls back into place. Capturing the enemy leaders in charge with the invading force, I stumbled backwards and fell onto the woman's arms as I began losing my power at an alarming rate.
"I guess... This is as far... As I can go.... Ha-ha'. "Slouching beside the woman as she held me in place, I raised my eyes up at the castle balcony at the tallest tower and scoffed when I saw the mysterious little girl looking onto our direction with those red and green eyes as if she could tell where I would be exiting from the time rift.
"Take us out... Go back to the normal pace of time. "Feeling the scales and even my horns crackle and break, I remained stunned as the effects of what I did came back ten times less worse than the agony I experienced in the spell.
As time began moving again, my image of me screaming through the air dissolved as I now stood across from Evabel. The sound and life of the world returned as I scoffed as Evabel turned and only saw me collapse as the woman tended to me and Evabel wondered what had happened to the enemy.
"Shiro... Shiro!? "Seeing me, her first instinct was to rush over and stopped as she looked around for a split second as I doze of and saw her blurry figure rushing towards me.
That was all I could remember as I felt I knew I had sacrificed enough power that I could have used to go back home. Instead, I saved Evabel and the kingdom she loves so much.
In my messed up life, I was glad about what I did as I was at peace should I never awaken again...
At least, thats what I hoped until the chaos that was to ensue after the stunt I pulled in fonrt of the whole world began to change in response of my existence. Including two familiar strangers who heard of what I did and were making towards the kingdom where I was held.
Even if they destroyed everything in their path, the fact remained the world knew where I now was and that alone was set to bring a great apocalyptic debate between the royal and supernatural alike in the worlds many great and powerful countries as a temporary truce between all continents were smart to change war into conversation over what should be done with my existence moving forward.
The start of an arms race that held me at the center was set to begin.
