"I'll drive", Caryn said, as they approached Jake's car. "We'll need to make some stops along the way too", she added.
In the car, Jake reached over the box and asked, "can we open the box now? I need some answers."
"No! Don't open it!" Caryn screamed. Then, in a calmer voice said, "not yet".
For the next 30 minutes, Caryn and Jake exchanged questions to verify how they are siblings...
"Hometown?"
"Laguna!"
"Parents?"
"Manuel and Alicia"
"Birthday?"
"May 5"
They asked and responded similar answers almost in unison. The only difference they had was that Caryn was 5 years older than Jake.
"Jake, you need to call me Ate then since your only 20," Caryn joked, "and therefore need to follow everything I say." This was the first time they laughed together eversince they met. Sun was up and they decided to have breakfast at the roadside fastfood restaurant.
As Jake was washing his hands in the rest room, he was shocked to see a black figure infront of him in the mirror as it slowly wrote...A N D R E S. Jake screamed and ran out of the toilet to find Caryn.
Caryn was already in the car. As Jake frantically got in the car, telling Caryn about the incident, he noticed Caryn staring ahead, totally not moving. It's as if she was a mannequin. He shook and screamed at her but it didn't work. Meanwhile, Jake couldn't breathe, the anxiety and fear was getting to him. He was about to get a terrible panic attack when,
"Jake! Jake!"
He looked out the window to see Caryn standing there, frantically trying to open the door. Jake couldn't open the door, he was too afraid to look at whoever was in the car with him when something grabbed his foot as his vision started fading to black. He didn't dose off. He touched his eyes and felt they were open but he couldn't see anything. He could still hear the engine of his car and feel the aircon breeze on his skin. Then slowly, like the light at the end of a tunnel, light started filling his vision again. But he wasn't in the car anymore. He was somewhere else.
