Today, is the day we finally found some new recruits. We were at a abandoned supermarket and met this other group. They were called, "the warlords," and most of them were men.
We asked them if they would join our group, and the leader said, "yes, but we need help killing these monsters." Alita replied, "That's WhAt we were going to ask you, but we need aid for getting gear and more guns."He said, "my name is Hasashi," he was an older man probably around his 40's.
We grouped up and headed back to our base to get the new recruits ready for combat.
We got back to base and they had a shooting test setup for us so we could get better at aiming. 2 people would go at a time to see who was the best and who was the worst. The first two people were up and I got nervous to see what we were doing.
They gave us 9mm pistols, ear muffs, and glasses at the shooting practice. The two first finished, then the next two, and then I was up. I was frightened to shoot because, I've never held a gun before. They handed me the gun and I put the clip in and pulled back the barrel. I aimed down at the can and shot.
I hit it and went onto the next one and missed but, shot again and hit it. I finished the rest of the test and went to Alita. "You surprised me Nick, u hit about all of those cans, and you said it's your first time using a gun?" *She laughed* "Yea I surprised myself," I said. She told me to go on back to the room and said, "remember, when we go out to fight, don't be afraid to pull the trigger." I told her, "I won't." And walked back to my room.
The room was a bit simple and plain but that was because it's hasn't been that long since the incident. It was night time and I got bored so I pulled my 9mm pistol and started practicing aiming without the clip in. But what I forgot was that there was still one bullet loaded in, and I accidentally shot the wall. Everyone ran into my room wondering what happen and were freaked out cause that is when the monsters come out at and we always must be quite. *Thump* we heard on the roof, as everyone quickly silenced, and waited for the monster to go. *Thump* *Thump* it happened again but closer, as if it was figuring out where we were but, all of the sudden we hear a screech, almost like a howl, from another and it quickly hurled away.
Alita told me, "Make sure not to make any sound at night as loud as that, or they will get us next time," she then taught me to make sure not to use guns at night and if I do, make sure the gun doesn't have a bullet in it before I do so.
