As we start actual operations in our solar system we have to be very very careful right from the beginning. Our solar system has been in equilibrium for many many years now. Life has evolved and has sustained because of this very equilibrium which we are now likely to disturb. There will be a ripple effect and changes will take place everywhere we look. Everyone remembers the Global Warming due to the industrial revolution and its effect such as Climate Change etc. We resolved these issues through collective action and new technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Data Science and Machine Learning, etc.
Simultaneously we now had greater capabilities for space exploration and with the active participation of the private sector, new possibilities had emerged. Cost of space exploration had come down considerably and developing infrastructure on Marse and other similar bodies had become the necessity to facilitate further human exploration and other related activities.
Steel has always been an important ingredient in the development of infrastructure because of its good strength, low cost, and several other properties which makes it a preferred material for making things. Mercury is the planet made almost of steel. Hence it has been decided to steel mining on Mercury for development of infrastructure at other places. But this huge mining target may cause several changes in the solar system disturbing the equilibrium established. Several checks and balances were put into place to monitor the changes in the various parameters and corrective action would be taken from time to time.
This book covers one of the methods adopted to ensure controlled mining of steel on Mercury. A Code for mining was developed and had to be implemented by all the mining companies for the sake of uniformity and harmony in operations.
