After getting my nerves back, I finally got out of the hole. I hope this place isn't that thing's nesting grounds. If it is, obviously I ain't staying here. Alright, next step is water.....GROWL...Another meal? I guess lets eat more of that leftover lizard. In the first place, I haven't felt thirsty this whole time I've been here. So, it's fine to find water after the meal.
Crawling across the cavern ceiling, it just realize something. Why does crawling on the ceiling feels so natural to me? I didn't even question when I was a cockroach. Is it the natural instinct of this lizard creature? Am I succumbing to the lizard's true nature?...Nah. My intelligence is still here, so I guess it's fine.
Crawling as sneakily as I could, I finally found prey. A spider hanging on its web! I have no problems with eating bugs, but specifically no cockroaches. Stalking my prey, this time I look all around me, so something like before won't surprise me. Inching closer and closer to the spider and finally pouncing on it. The spider screeches as I bit down on its head. However, it seems my teeth can't pierce through the hard carapace. Thus, the spider scratches me with its front legs.
I promptly let go of it and in turn slashes it with my claws. I tore off the two of its front limbs and continues slash until no front limbs is left. Damn I'm brutal. Finally, after a few minutes of tango, the spider finally dies. I would never have thought the hunt would be a long fight. The lizard's bite is weak, but the claws compensate for that. However, I still wish the bite could've been better.
With that, I feel the crazy itch happening to my whole lizard head. For around five minutes, I restrain myself from smashing my head. Feeling my head, it seems I have grown a bigger with a bigger jaw. However, there seems to be a problem, it's hard to move with a head this size. It feels like wearing a backpack on your head. Every movement is hard to balance.
For, now I don't need rapid movement and now I can eat the spider easily with a strong jaw. Chomping down the spider until nothing is left, I begin to feel lethargic. My stomach is full, I guess it's time to sleep. Dragging my body all the way to the statue, information regarding the spider appears in my mind. This is a much needed as now, I'm having trouble climbing up the statue. A big head isn't really a great body shape to climb.
I now understand my ability more or less, thinking of wanting to change, my body will begin to itch and evolve. I 'will' my body to evolve extra limbs of the spider behind my back. Again itching on my back and a few minutes later, spider legs!
Now, having the extra eight limbs behind my back, crawling up is now easy. Getting inside the hole and resting on top of the huge boulder, finally I slowly let my consciousness go. However, just before I could, the boulder begins to shake a bit, side to side. Hmm?
Is there an earthquake? There's no trembling of any kind. So, how did this boulder moved? Looking down, the boulder it finally stop shaking. Putting my lizard ear against the boulder, I could hear a thump. A slow rhythmic thump. Like that of a heartbeat.........Is this an egg?
