Rose PoV
We went inside the carriage and departed
Departed? Leaving?
I made a bitter smile and looked out the window beside me. it was night and darkness surrounded everything.
'Master, please close the window, you might catch a cold because of the wind coming inside.' Anita said.
I took a glance at her and saw her beautiful but worrying face.
'It's fine Anita, I wanna look outside a bit more, I'll have it close once I feel cold' I told her. she still gave me that worried face as an answer but I assured her and she didn't say anything anymore. after all, she must obey her master's will. I looked outside again and what I saw is scary trees swaying its branches, dancing by the strong wind, no stars in the night sky and the full moon is covered by the clouds. Perfect scenery for a lonesome and long road to take.
Minutes passed then Hours and I looked at Anita who's eyes are already closed. she looked so tired, it was a long day after all. I decided then to close the windows because I don't want her to be cold and quietness succumb. only wheels of the carriage on the bumpy road can be heard and the whipping of the driver to its horse. with this, I fell asleep.
When I fell asleep, I felt something is pulling me down, drowning me in an endless pit of darkness. I'm all alone and my body feels numb because of the coldness. It was getting harder to see. It was getting harder to breath
Like all of my senses is being slowly nullified
It was very painful, very suffocating like someone is strangling me in the neck
I can feel it
I can feel death is approaching.
Just what is this?
As I was about to give up when I saw an image
I saw the person who brought me up into this world. A tear fell out of my eyes.
My beloved and kind Mother.
My heartache
No!
I can't be pulled down like this!
I haven't avenged my beloved mother, the hell I've been through.
I need to punish those people first before I can go to a night of eternal sleep.
I can't ever forgive those people!

I slowly opened my eyes and I was not feeling very well, I'm Furious. I scanned my surroundings and I saw Anita Infront of me, she is unconscious and her face looked pale and blood is slowly dripping out of her mouth and nose. My whole body trembled, please not her - - she is the only one I have now and I can't afford to lose her. I was hesitating because I'm afraid. not because of the unknown danger I'm gonna face but because of Anita.
I'm afraid to lose her.
I mustered all my courage to lift my hand that feels like it weight tons of kilos.
I touched her neck and I was relieved that there is a pulse. but it was very weak, like a flickering candle in the open space that the fire may perish anytime. Even I'm dizzy, I have to do something. I have to save Anita no matter what! I will make sure that the people who did this will depart in this mortal world!
I examined Anita then the carriage we're at, the carriage had stopped and there was no sign of movements. first things first, Anita
I looked at her and I touched her forehead with my index finger then I closed my eyes.
I don't know what will be the effect of this action of mine. I was back to being a child. my body hasn't even tried to use mana yet. I hope that this body can withstand the pressure.
All these worries, I put them all behind the back of my mind it didn't matter if it was saving Anita. she is someone I cannot afford to lose.
I smiled bitterly.
In my previous life, I was told that I have no affinity. that I was unblessed by the goddess of the universe. the blessed one is those people who have an affinity. for example, If you have an affinity with fire, you can use and control Fire. If you have the Affinity of the wind then you can fly and command the wind. those people who have rare and strong affinities are called the child of God. They have tremendous power and will be in the highest position of the food chain.
If there are people who had been blessed, there will be also some people who are unblessed like me. we are discriminated upon, they call us the unlucky, the sinful, the unfortunate and many more. we are at the very bottom of the food chain.
I saw how my mother cried in silence and secrecy when I was tested and was told I have no affinity. she cried not because I'm an unblessed and useless child but because she was very worried about me and how the society will treat me, especially that I'm a general's offspring.
But later in my life that I had found out that I've been lied to, that I was manipulated and that I was used. when I found out, it was all too late. there was a voice that keeps calling me but I decided to ignore it, How foolish! I hate how foolish and dumb I was. It was in my death when I found out that it existed. It cried because I was slowly disappearing, it tried to help me but it was all too late.
I stared at Anita before I close my eyes and called out with my little voice
'Raphael.'
A very small ball of golden light slowly appeared right in front of my index finger that is in Anita's forehead. the light is getting stronger as well as my strength is slowly fading away. I'm getting weaker as seconds past. I'm relieved to know that my powers are back but I'm just worried that I may fall unconscious because of fatigue and knowing that the enemies are still out there. my vision is getting blurry but I saw Anita. she is already awake up and her big eyes are staring at me.
'Sorry I'm so tired, will leave everything to you' I said before I collapse.

My body is weak.
I wanted to puke because of fatigue and dizziness.
A cold gush of wind just past me and I tried opening my heavy eyes and it was all nothing but blurry.
It was awhile before I was able to realize and see what is happening.
I was not in the ground anymore but rather I was behind the thin and small back of Anita. she was carrying me in her back and running so fast. I then heard movements from behind and I saw around ten bulky and scary men who are chasing and running before us. I was able to picture the situation we are in. I looked at Anita who's sweating a lot. in her situation, standing and walking would be already so hard because she just recovered from a fatal poisoning but running, it would be very painful. her body will be giving up soon.
'Anita' I called her.
Anita glanced at me
'Master hang in there. I'll keep you safe no matter what' she said but as soon as she said that, I heard a swish sound and I unconsciously arched my upper body because, from my upper back, I felt an impact that brought so much pain, I felt blood dripped down from my back at the same time I can taste a blood in my mouth then it flowed down from my lips. those men just shot me with an arrow.
'Those bastards! How dare they!'
I saw how Anita's pale face became paler and I can feel her murderous aura slowly oozing out from her body. All I can see from her is hatred. her eyes are slowly changing into a beautiful crimson color. she was about to stop and face the enemies but I said to her with a weak voice.
'Anita, keep running to the left.' I ordered. even hesitating she still controlled her rage and obeyed me because I know that she knows that she cannot beat those people. especially that they have a magical beast on their side.
I told her to run on her left because I know that we have a good chance of survival there than running to an unknown path. I have a good smelling sense than the others and I can smell fire on the left side of this forest and fire means people.
Anita did her best to run as fast as she can. It was getting harder for me now to stay conscious. Then I looked forward. My head is above Anita's shoulder and then we saw a group of people. Two Adults and a child. They are around the fire camp and there are tents on the side. from the looks of it, they had a camp for the night and they are trying to keep warm but they were a bit far from us that's why I cannot see their faces. I can see that they are looking in our direction. it must have been unexpected and surprised on them - - suddenly seeing two people being chased down by a group of men and magical beast. surely they would pity us right? oh god, my sight is getting blurry. we were getting close to them when I felt myself falling and rolling down on the ground.
I saw Anita just right in front of me. she looked down her feet and I followed her sight and I saw a vine encircling it. so that's why.
'Little girls! you're testing my patience' a man said and slowly coming near us. he looks very familiar and then I remembered. He is the front gate guard of the glassglow mansion
'You traitor bastard!' Anita shouted at him and tried to get up but the man stepped on Anita's back and pushed her down back the ground that created a loud thump.
My mind is not working anymore. I felt pain beyond more than I can imagine. I turned my head around and then I looked at the group of people not afar from us, who are just looking and just watching us.
'Hi, gentlemen! I apologize for this unsightly sight. please ignore us and we will leave right away' the man said and those people. I hope those people will be hunted by their conscience for not helping an adorable little girl like me.
I stared at them and my hope is slowly diminishing when the man slowly bends down to pick me up.
'Let go! don't - - please!' Anita begs but the man ignores her
'Milady Finally! I can finally get near you, you are mine' the man said to me but I no longer have the power to move even a finger and even tot utter a word. I just lied there
the man was about to pick me up but then on my sight. the three people sitting by the campfire decrease by one and become two. the smallest figure was now out of sight. then, from my back, I heard a voice said.
'Don't touch her with your filthy hand'
As soon as I heard it, I felt unknown security. I think I can rest now.
'Th - - thank you' I said to him and I felt my consciousness is slowly fading away for a second time but before that, I heard a reassuring voice said to me.
'take a rest because I will keep you safe'
