*flash back*
the laughter of children could be heard as Ethan and Danny were playing in the park
"bet you can't catch me Ethan!"
"oh I will!"
after a short while of running and laughing. Ethan decided to sit on a swing to rest
"hey Ethan!"
Ethan would turn back taking a look at his friend Danny. Danny came over and he sat down on a swing next to ethan.
"so what is it?"
Ethan grabs his tail hugging it tightly nervous and...blushing
"hey Ethan what's wrong?"
"Danny I...have a question"
Danny backs up looks at the sky and back at ethan
"ok what is it?"
"do you....want to be more than.....friends?"
Ethan would sweat at what he said not sure if Danny would insult him or reject him or even accept him
"sure! we could be best friends!"
Ethan was happy enough he expected more but this was enough

Ethan gasps getting up from his bed sweating, panting he placed his hand on his head,stood up and head to the kitchen.
"mornin Ethan. did you sleep well?"
"morning Danny...yes I did..."
yawning,Ethan grabs an apple and eats it on the counter facing Danny
"you ready for highschool?"
Ethan shrugs taking another bite of his apple.
"I'll take that as a yes"
Ethan looks over to a pile of pizza boxes on the corner of their apartment
"you know we really got to clean this place,it's becoming a mess"
Danny replied while chopping some carrots
"well I have athletic stuff to do so go clean it up for me would ya?"
Ethan would grunt and finish his apple

(5:00 in the afternoon)
Danny was sitting on the L shaped couch he got from a yard sale while watching some horror movies
"heeeyyyy Danny whatcha watching?"
Danny would reply sipping a can of beer beside him
"I'm just watching some movies"
Ethan would smile and sit beside Danny leaning on his shoulders
"so when are you going to pay for rent?"
"I don't know...maybe may?"
"dude, the landlord is coming on like March you gotta pay them earlier"
Danny would sigh and continue to watch the movie
"I heard from last year that you had some sort of interest in me..."
Ethan didn't make any sound ,ignoring what Danny said
"hey Ethan c'mon tell me"
Ethan 'hmph's at Danny looking the other way
"fine if you won't tell me I'll have to..."
Danny would grin and place his hands around Ethan's waist
"make you tell me!"
he started to tickle Ethan who was already laughing hysterically
"OK OK i-ill tell you!"
Danny grins letting go of Ethan catching his breath from all the laughing
"so...is it true?"
Ethan blushes, his tail shaking,palms sweating, replies
"I...I kinda like you..."
Danny smiles and says
"well I like you too Ethan were best friends!"
Ethan would stop shaking and sob quietly
"i-its just that..."
Danny gets a little annoyed and says
"what is it Ethan? come on tell me!"
"ITS JUST THAT IM GAY OK"
Danny was shook at what Ethan said
"remember when*sob* I told you I wanted to be*sob*more than friends when we were kids?"
Danny would nod still shook
"i endured a lot of pain waiting seeing you with other girls and that you would be with me anymore..."
"i-im sorry Ethan I didn't kno-"
"YOU NEVER EVEN CARED HOW MUCH I LOVED YOU"
Danny could hear the sadness in Ethan's voice his ears drooping
"just...leave me alone"
"w-wait Ethan!"
just before he could grab him Ethan,crying, ran to his room and locked the door
"I just wanted to say sorry..."
Danny was devastated his best friend had a crush on him but he never knew.
he messed everything up.
