She left his place like a prey running away from its predator and here she was standing again. She rang the bell this time rather than scanning the card.
The door opened, Luke froze for a second seeing her standing, he was in his grey sweatpants and a white t-shirt, his hair still messy from the shower. "Can I come in?" She asked.
"Sure." He opened the door and stepped aside.
She sat down in the living room. Luke stood there looking at her, "I'm sorry Nora. I really am."
"It's okay. I really didn't know how to react so I ran away. But someone told me to face my emotions head on, so I came back." She looked up at him. He visually relaxed and sat down beside her on the couch, his head in his hands, "I was afraid you won't come back. I was actually scared for the first time about someone leaving me, Nora. Thank you for coming back."
Nora heard his words and was surprised, this was the first time she saw him so worried and he was only worried about her. She really wanted him to know that it was alright, that everything was fine. She stood up in front of him and put her hands on his cheeks to make him look up at her. She bent down and pressed her lips against his.
Luke was amazed at how she took an initiative, he let her take control, for once. Opening his mouth he welcomed her warmth. He wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her closer. It was like she was exploring his mouth, slow and sweet.
When she pulled away, she rested her head against his, catching her breath.
"Oh sweetheart you're a fast learner." He pulled her into his lap.
"I'm learning from the best." She smiled.
He shook his head, "But Nora I really mean it. I am sorry. I didn't mean to scare you. I don't know what took over me and I –" he sighed and looked at her, "I promise I won't touch you. Not until you want me to."
"Thank you." She murmured, "but," she looked at his lips. He laughed out loud, "Oh Nora. That is something I need too." He hugged her tightly and leaned back into the couch. She rested her head on his shoulder and just stayed in silence.
The doorbell rang, "Nora?" Luke said. She didn't budge, he straightened himself and looked down at her, she had fallen asleep. The doorbell rang again. He laid her down on the couch and went to get it.
"What is it Jerry?" He opened the door.
"Sir, your father called. He wants you to spend a vacation with them." He said.
"Tell him I said no. And I have better things to do." He looked down at the phone in his hands, "see you around Jerry." He shut the door.
Jerry put the phone to his ear, "Mr. Osborne, that's all I can do."
"I understand. I'll call again." The man on the other side hung up.
Luke went back to the living room, Nora was still on the couch sleeping soundly. He bent down and brushed the stray hair from her face. He picked her up and headed for the bedroom, choosing the guest room over his. He was pretty sure he wouldn't be able to control himself with her in his room. He laid her down and pulled up the covers.
Nora was really different, she was making him feel things he had never felt before. He was not someone who would wait for so long for a girl, even after knowing he would have wait a little longer. Having her around always lightened the mood. Seeing her rack her brain just to get a comeback whenever he flirted with her, was adorable. Seeing her smile while she ate the food he cooked, made his day. She wasn't even his type, not even close, but he kept falling for her. And it was hard for him to believe that she was breaking in through him. She was changing him ever so slowly and marking him as hers and soon he would do the same to her. She was a beautiful storm, he was welcoming with open arms.
Nora stirred in the bed and kicked down the blanket, he smiled and covered her again. Bending down he kissed her forehead, "I think I have fallen deeper for you little Nora."
