Next day being a holiday, Kaira woke up late. As she descended the stairs, received scolding from her mother for not performing namaz(prayer). She said sorry and headed to kitchen to eat something. While she was about to take chappathi from casserole, her mother Rubiya enquired how was the farewell party.
Kaira got a glimpse of the kiss in her mind when her mother mentioned the party. She tried to keep her emotions in check and slowly turn around to reply. She kept her voice low as possible and said it was good Ammi( Mothter in Urdu)
She wanted to keep her voice steady so mother doesn't suspect her of anything. Once food was over, Kaira grabbed a random book and headed to the balcony. She wanted to think about everything that happened and also wanted to make a decision for future. She did not want to make her parents sad or felt ashamed because of her.
She thought of her feelings towards Namit. She got affirmation that it is just friendship from her said. But then comes that kiss. She kissed him with all the vigor just like he did. Am I fulfilling my lustful wishes she pondered. But that will give him a wrong idea that I love him. Would love to experience that, but it's forbidden in our religion before marriage.
She wished to be kissed like that again. She unknowingly was touching her lips when her mother came to put washed chilly for drying under the sun; on the balcony. She informed mother she was just thinking about the future what to do. As Rubiya left downstairs, Kaira too out her laptop from the room beside balcony , in order tor search for college in Hyderabad. Her father had given permission to stay at his brother house to pursue her degree.
Kaira liked few colleges and check the marks she would need to attain to get admission. One more month is there for the final exams to start.
Kaira then called Namit over for studying. Once Namit came he seem to be feeling more confident and wants to continue their last session he informed her.
She try to speak as softly as possible so her mother doesn't get startled. She said " Namit I don't want you to think I am in love with you. I just couldn't bear to think you are sad because of me, so I just let you kiss me and kissed you back as well. If felt good. But I dont want us to go any further than that. Of all the persons you being my best friend will surely understand I am not in love with you. Otherwise I would have told you; as you are first person I say anything happening in my life"
Namit kept quiet the whole time. After few seconds he said will try my best to control my feelings buddy. Don't worry I will not force anything onto you.
At that moment, Rubiya came and served them snacks along with cold coffee. They became silent . While Rubiya was about to leave, Kaira said Ammi we are leaving outside for a walk
