Chapter 4 - Vol. 1 Chapter 8

Hokage's office.

On Hiruzen's desk was information about Kakashi's recent missions and actions.

Kakashi's relationship with his third team was already failing, to the point that it might hinder the success of the mission.

Danzo tapped his cane as he approached the table and said in a deep voice, "...you can't seem to pick up a team for this kid, Hiruzen, in that case, you'd better give him to me."

Hiruzen put the pipe to his mouth, took a drag, and looked at Danzo, "You want to turn Sakumo's child into an emotionless tool?"

Danzo's face was indifferent, "Let me raise him, then he won't make the same mistake and become a more powerful shinobi than Sakumo."

Hiruzen snorted coldly, stood up, and said: "Danzo, don't tell me you came to me just for this."

Danzo looked intently at the Hokage and said: "Of course not, it's just that you were just dealing with his team problem, in fact I came to see how you felt about the Kirigakure situation, Hiruzen are you ready for war or..."

Hiruzen took a leisurely drag.

Exhaled circles of smoke.

Slowly he turned around and walked to the window.

The Hokage stared thoughtfully at the sky for a while, then said: "Their reconnaissance squads have been too active lately, you need to contain them, I leave that to you."

"Good."

Danzo nodded faintly and left the office, at the same time saying, "...Hiruzen, you must not waste this child's talent."

Sons of Sakumo, he doesn't care about the perfectly ordinary Eruashi, but he did pay attention to the talented Kakashi, otherwise he wouldn't talk about it, but since the Hokage is against it, he won't waste time on such things at such a hectic time.

Hiruzen didn't answer anything, after Danzo left he turned around and looked at the door.

He shook his head and sighed, the figure of Sakumo appeared in his mind.

Sakumo's death had quite an impact on Konoha.

One of the reasons that other villages were increasingly provoking Konoha was precisely the loss of the illustrious White Fang of Konoha.

And Sakumo's death had a huge impact on Kakashi, no matter which team he was assigned to, there are constant conflicts with his partners, it has been over two years since he graduated early from the academy, but Kakashi has still not established himself in any team, Danzo's words did make some sense.

"Sakumo, your kid is a great shinobi, but he's too bad with other people..."

Sarutobi sighed and muttered quietly.

Sakumo's two children, if Eruashi can be called merely outstanding, then Kakashi is undoubtedly a genius among geniuses, having fully inherited his father's talent, perhaps he can become the new White Fang of Konoha in the future.

Kakashi's placement is gradually becoming quite a problem, he has already organized several good teams for Kakashi, but each time, after some time, the child would come to his office, saying that he cannot continue to stay in the team.

But it's impossible to give Kakashi to Danzo.

While Root is indeed suitable for Kakashi, it would be too unfair to the deceased Sakumo, during his lifetime he was practically incompatible with Danzo and would never want to see his son raised in Root and used as a tool.

"...Let's do it this way."

After going through various options, Hiruzen finally made a decision and turned to Anbu, lurking in the study, "Get Minato."

The few regular Joonins that Hiruzen had picked up to lead Kakashi couldn't match him, now Minato was the only suitable candidate.

After Sakumo's death, in Hiruzen's opinion, it is Minato who is the best candidate for the role of Fourth Hokage, so he would do well to bring up a good student, a genius like Kakashi might be suitable for the role.

"Bingo."

Anbu accepted the Hokage's command and quickly left the office.

Sarutobi returned to his chair, took another puff and shook his head, "...I didn't expect it to come to this."

Because of the tense situation in the world, Minato's presence is required in many places, so although Hiruzen had thought about him from the beginning, he never made a decision, and now it's back to square one.

One could hand Kakashi over to Minato without any hindsight, since Hiruzen saw him as his successor as Hokage, training the young and willful genius shouldn't be much of a problem.

Thinking about it once more, Hiruzen looked around the table and held out his hand for a certain folder.

This folder contained information about some of the students at the academy, they were sorted according to their closeness to Kakashi.

The first page naturally had information from Eruashi on it, but Hiruzen cast a quick glance at it and flipped over.

It was a bit inappropriate to put the two brothers on the same team, not to mention that Minato was his successor, if Eruashi had the same talent as Kakashi there wouldn't be much problem with that, for the sake of proper training of the younger generation some factors can be ignored, but now he must consider the village voice.

"Maito Gai...Uchiha Obito...Nohara Rin..."

Sarutobi pondered and made a choice.

First, if a member of the Uchiha Clan becomes Minato's apprentice, then they won't be too resistant to Minato becoming the next Hokage.

Second, a child of the civilian ranks, but Maito Gai boy, Nohara Rin was the best candidate, so he struck a balance in all aspects.

Click.

Having solved another problem, Sarutobi hung up the phone and smiled contentedly.

Usually Hokage is not actively involved in the placement of students at the academy, but Kakashi's talent deserves special attention, if he becomes a student of Minato, Hiruzen will feel much more relaxed.

There won't be a problem with that.

Having solved Kakashi's problem, Hiruzen showed no interest in the other students, putting the folder of information about Eruashi and the others aside.

"I hope Danzo's actions will help contain Kirigakure at least a little."

Sarutobi looked pensively at the ceiling and muttered.

His main headache now was the tense situation in the world, the friction between the five Great Shinobi Villages was gradually growing, and Konoha was at the epicenter of it all.

There are several objective reasons for this. First, the Land of Fire possesses the richest resources. Second, Konoha benefited greatly from its victory in World War II Shinobi. That is why the other Great Villages turned their eyes to Konoha.

But Sarutobi could not make any concessions.

In this cruel world, if you take one step back, you are bound to be forced to take a second, in order to guarantee peace, you need to respond as harshly as possible to any threat, Sarutobi is all too aware of that.

Therefore, if the situation can no longer be stabilized and Shinobi World War III is inevitable, then Konoha will strike in full force!

At this point, the Hokage's eyes turned cold.

Having won World War II Shinobi, Konoha gained abundant resources, their foundation is now strong and stable. Though they lost White Fang, there is Orochimaru and Jiraiya, his students have grown into very powerful shinobi, as well as a rising star, Minato.

If war breaks out, Konoha will not be afraid of other villages!
