Chapter 1 - A Brief History

In the year 380 of the 2nd Era (2E 380) in the Roanoth Calendar, the Empire of the Valenwood was under attack. They had previously expanded their dominion to the Loke Mountain Range to the East, however in doing so they disturbed the tribes who made their home in the mountains. These tribes were widely considered to be brutish and uncivilized, at the same time no communication was attempted between Valenwood and the numerous tribes to the East.

After Valenwood had pronounced their claim to the Eastern lands, they proceeded with 2 small armies each with over 500 foot soldiers, 300 archers, and 35 catapults. This accounted for a rather large portion of their military (A total 2,240 to be exact), thus causing the Eastern tribes to be outnumbered. During this time the Kingdoms of Areth and Hinock (North and West respectively), saw this as the opportune time to attack Valenwood, given their lacking Military population. By the time Valenwood's Eastern troops had received word of this and returned, they had already lost a quarter of of their land and almost all of ther remaining Military for forces. Upon arrival they managed to hold their current ground and force a stalemate between Valenwood and the opposing Kingdoms of Areck and Hinock.

The Queen of Valenwood ordered her forces to stand their ground and make no attempts to regain their lost farmland and towns. She feared that in doing so, they would spread their numbers too thin and lose everything they had, and thus they stand now, waiting for orders and reinforcements.
