Chapter 4 - First Customer

Meyren was sitting on the floor while munching some sweets that he found in the 'house' of those unlucky guys. "This is actually quite interesting, even the bloodlines have ranks... it seem i'll have to kill someone stronger if i want to improve my main bloodline."

After his domineering rampage, he had 13 bloodlines of G rank and one F rank bloodline wich he acquired from the shapeshifting-trait dude. The ranks of bloodlines appeared after he began his absorption spree, and it showed him that his main bloodline was actually S rank!

He obviously didn't need these low-rank bloodlines, after all when he compared them to his main bloodline he had to supress the urge to slap himself to death because he was too OP.

He evolved his main bloodline to lvl 2 and used the remaining 25 bloodline essence left to gain five random attribute points. He opened his status not even trying to hide his joy

He was still wondering why he had an underground devil bloodline as a human, but he was very satisfied with it. His main bloodline skill unfortunately didn't evolve, but he could now talk in the common language of the underground wich was a very good thing. This also made his desire for strength surge even more, how strong would he be if his main bloodline was lvl 100? He managed to calm himself after remembering that he wasn't the only one with an op trait, and that most of them were in the side of 'peace'. He definitely didn't want nor need strong foes right now, he didn't have the ultimate scheming trait after all.

He cleaned his mess and when he was satisfied, he returned to the location where he left his little sister. She didn't seem to be comfortable while sleeping, seeing her like that made Meyren feel a tinge of shame and surprisingly promised to himself something that wasn't about killing a person, bullying a bunch of weaklings or getting revenge. And that was to make his sister at least satisfied with her life.

Meyren chuckled when he saw the drowsy face of Emily that just woke up, and thought that his sister really inherited the good genes of their parents. She yawned and when she saw that Meyren was awake she muttered softly "Good morning..." she yawned and stretched her arm. Meyren patted her head and gave her a biscuit, that she ate happily. She seemed to have forgot what had happened yesterday and that made Meyren quite happy.

He was on a good mood after seeing how cute his sister was and decided to head to the place where the shop would open and wait there since he just knew that they appeared at the seventh day after the change and nothing more. When he reached the location he saw a youth sitting there like if he was waiting for someone or something. Meyren eyes shone with greed when he saw the face of the young man 'I really lucked out this time!'. Every person that lived in Fiern and not under a rock in his past life would know this guy as the best treasure hunter. This guy actually could litteraly destroy entire races with his wealth.

His trait was as good as useless at first glance but it wasn't this simple, the trait was named "Wealthy sage istinct" and gave him two abilities. The first was 'God of greed' that would give him a signal when something of value was near him and could even show him the direction where the thing is located. The second one was even more absurd and was named 'Prophet' it gave him some clues about important things that could happen around him. Someone as rich as him would usually definitely be target of countless assassination attempts, but not him. It was basically useless since he always felt it when someone was planning to kill him and that was due to this skill.

Meyren absolutely wanted to make this guy join his side. Forget making his sister the leader of the magic association, if he had someone that could find artifacts he could even make his own organisation or guild. After all the only thing that made the magic association a strong power was the fact that they had members that could create artifacts even if they weren't as strong as the treasure the 'trasure hunter' in front of him could find. No one wanted to offend them because fighting them was like having to fight an army of mechas with an army of swordsmans, the difference between equipements was this big.

Before he could even say a word, the other already saw him and greeted him first "Hello my name is Rodney..." He seemed to hesitate for a moment before saying "May i know if you are here because of you trait too?" Meyren was surprised for a moment before smiling "Nope, i'm here because of instinct. i feel that something may appear here. Who know maybe we'll even have to compet over it" Meyren joked. However the face of rodney clearly showed that he thought of this possibility. Meyren said with a smile "No worries we're still fellow humans, i won't do anything bad to you if your goal isn't to harm us." The expression of Rodney turned to one of relief and began to chat happily with Meyren while waiting. After two hours the ground began to expand an a bright light made them close their eyes. Emily and Rodney were dumbfounded when they opened their eyes again. In front of them was a building looking like a circus marquee made of crystal. Meyren entered the building without hesitation and Emily followed after him obediently. Rodney didn't hesitate too much since he believed in his trait and entered the marquee-like building. He was even more dumbfounded by what he saw when he entered, from outside the building was just of the size of a villa at most, but the inside was actually nearly as big as a small town. At the sight of the shocked Rodney and the notification that just popped in front of him, Meyren laughed heartily. "You are the first customer to enter a Shop you gained the {Discerning eyes} skill" Meyren was going mad with joy at this point, he knew how great this skill was.

The skills that didn't come from the trait actually didn't have any description in the status window, when someone acquired one of them he would just know how to use them like how a person would know how to move his hands.

When the sound of existence ringed in his ears, Meyren view of the world immediatly began to change and a lot of details about his surrounding was flooding his eyes and mind. He saw the weak points of Rodney body just by glancing at him, this ability was this useful. He took Emily hand and moved toward the counter where a woman in maid outfit was standing. Meyren wasn't surprised when he didn't see weak points in the woman body, skills had to be upgraded with time, training or both. The woman bowed and said in a sweet voice "This is the first time for you to enter a shop, you can acquire a crystal ring and purchase a T1 weapon for free." she was talking to both Meyren and Emily before an interface appeared in front of them.

Meyren smiled when he saw the confused look on Emily face and told her the name of a staff she should buy. Meyren heard the woman say the same thing to Rodney, who was still mesmerized by how beautiful the woman was, and felt that he definitely had to recruit such a fun fella when he saw him focus on a certain part of the woman body. Meyren didn't really need to browse through the available weapons and just chose a pair of straight dagger that had a weight that suited him. When he pressed the purchase square, the daggers and a ring appeared in front of him. The ring could be used to save the quartz tears that dropped from dark manifestations. After all there were some items that costed even one billion quartz and he didn't know of someone who could carry such an amount with him pshysically. He took the dagger and unsheated them with an unsatisfied face and muttered softly "Ah my Wind Edge..." The weight of the daggers in his hand felt so unfamiliar that it nearly made him cry over the loss of his precious daggers. 'With Rodney i'll have an even better pair of daggers, it's not that bad...' Rodney who was still looking for a good weapon while glancing at the generous hills of the maid from time to time was still unaware that a dangerous man already considered him as his proprety.

They all left happily, but the one who was the most happy was Rodney who was thinking about the grear hills of the maid while muttering to himself "A treasure, a real treasure! My ability is the best, definitely the best..." Meyren sheated his daggers after trying some skills and said "Okay, shall we set off now?" Emily nodded her head and Rodney smiled while saying "We're parting pretty fast... Maybe we'll see each other again. Farew..." Meyren frowned and interrupted his dramatic speach "What nosense are you spouting? You're coming with us." Rodney was surprised when he heard what Meyren said and blurted out "No, no. My freedom is my most valuable asset, i have a family too and i..." Meyren stopped him again and said "You don't." Rodney was shocked and said "How did you know i...?" Meyren grinned and said shamelessly "You just confirmed it yourself. Okay Rod let's go" Rodney was dumbfounded and sighed before shouting "Okay i'm coming just don't call me Rod" Meyren chuckled, satisfied by how easygoing Rodney was then happily led the little group of three to the monastery while thinking about how to make the trip as long as possible to squeeze the potential of the treasure finding ability of Rodney dry.
