Chapter 3 - Chapter 3, she doesn't like him

As we were waiting for Vlondie to make the sandwich, Captain James walked in,

"Ah, so the pretty lady is awake." Captain James stated as Rose glared at him.

Captain James, even though he was only sixteen, took up the position of Captain of the guard when his father died, and has been respected ever since.

"Who's he?" Rose asked.

"Captain James, he's the leader of the guard." I explained as James tried to sit by Rose.

"I see Quazone fixed your wounds." James pointed out as Rose shook her head.

"It was mainly Vladimir who stitched me up." She explained as James nodded.

"He is trying to be a medic like his father. So far as I've seen, he's a pretty good one too." James stated as Rose glanced at me, the heat rising in my face again.

"W-Well, yes, I am a medic in training." I stated as she giggled.

"Someone's face is turning red." James stated as I glared at him.

Vlondie suddenly set down a sandwich in front of Rose, which she happily dug into.

"Off duty?" I asked James as he shrugged.

"Yeah. Quazone said to check on you two to make sure you made it to the kitchen." James stated as my face went into a deeper shade of red.

"I know how to make it to the kitchen." I told him as he chuckled.

"Are you sure?" He asked as Rose glared at him.

"Don't be mean to Vladimir." She demanded as James held up his hands in a 'don't hurt me' way.

"Does the pretty lady want to go to the cavern with me?" James asked as Rose glared more daggers.

"Call me Rose, and what's a cavern?" She asked as he chuckled.

"It's a restaurant, where you eat food." He replied as she shook her head.

"No." She answered.

"We don't have to go now, we can go later when you're hungry." He tried to convince her but she didn't budge.

"No. Vladimir was going to show me around the village. I want that more." She replied as James raised an eyebrow.

"Do you want James to show you around?" I asked as she quickly shook her head.

"No. Please Vlad, show me around?" She begged, so cutely.

"Alright, I won't force you to go with James." I replied as she silently cheered as James looked her over.

"Guess I'm no longer needed." James finally caught on as he left the kitchen.

"He was so scary." She stated as I chuckled.

"His appearance can suggest that sometimes." I agreed as she silently finished her sandwich.

"So, where to first?" I asked her as she yawned.

"Where do I sleep?" She asked as I pondered.

"You can take my bed, I have a couch in my room I can sleep on." I answered as she nodded.

"Okay, thank you." She replied as I began to show her the way to my bedroom.

"Just to warn you, I have a pet dragon." I told her as we headed up to the second floor where my bedroom was.

"Oh, a dragon? That's so cool." She stated as I opened the door to my bedroom.

Pru, my pet dragon, bounded off the bed and over to us, landing on my shoulder.

"Pru, this is Rose. She will be here until she regains memory." I told the dragon who was eyeballing Rose.

Pru was a miniature Mogthro dragon, with blue scales and green piercing eyes. He also had black claws that were considered deadly by those who attacked him.

"Hello, Pru." Rose stated as the dragon landed on her shoulder.

"He probably smells the turkey still." I told her as Pru licked Rose's fingers.

"What does he eat?" She asked as I thought.

"Well, Vlondie usually stops by twice a day with fresh turkey from the kitchen. He loves fish as well, but he won't hurt anyone unless they threaten him, or me for that matter." I explained as she nodded.

"Um, do you have somewhere I can take a bath?" She asked as I directed her to the bathroom.

"I'll see if Dad can get you something to wear by the time your done." I told her, Pru sat by the door as I closed it behind her.

"Thank you!" She called as I turned to Pru.

"Don't let anybody in. Only let her come out when she's done." I told Pru who growled in agreement as I left the room.
