—Another victim.
The news headline I happened to see while scrolling through my phone.
—Takauchi Yamada also known as Hana, a 22 years old celebrity of the idol group D.Va was found dead in her car this morning.
News usually don't pay attention to death cases too much. Most likely, a more controversial topic about politicians or anything that has a more impact to the city should be more appropriate for their use of time in their program.
A death of a nobody like this one fella right here isn't important enough to make strangers feel empathy for their family unless they were a saint. Maybe even at this moment someone might had died somewhere around the city. Yet why isn't the news covering about them instead?
I know why.
—Forensics have found that this time, the victim's eyeballs, tongue, ears, and fingers were taken. However, it seemed that the murder wasn't planning to sell the organs of their victim as most of the internal organs were intact. Police have concluded that the murder tortured the victim before killing them.
Big wrong right there ms. Reporter.
—Here we have the police chief Nakamura, handing out a message regarding the incident,
—...I am here to tell everybody that the police force is doing their very best. We already have enough information about this murder of ours likewise we also have the best people investigating the case....I assure you that it is only a matter of time until we catch this monster. There is nothing to fear that's why we oblige everybody to continue on their normal lives...
With the end of that bit, opened the messaging app after being notified a new message was received.
It was from an unknown number.
Most news over the internet were merely prerecorded and were not broadcasted in real time. So most definitely, the interview with the chief of police should have been more earlier than it had been broadcasted.
Before I could open the text, my heart started to race as a call from an unknown number started to ring in my phone. I can't help but also have my fingers tremble and cold.
I quickly denied the call. But a few seconds later, it rang again.
I click my tongue in contempt as I tried to suppress the sound as much as possible.
"Whose phone is that." The teacher up in front of my class announced.
Everyone started to look at me with suspicion.
My god. I'm in danger. I can't stop shaking.
"Ah– sorry sensei, may you excuse me? I have to take this call. Its important." I spoke without losing much composure.
"I see...very well. But could you take it outside. It's kind of disturbing the class Ouji-kun." The teacher pushed up his glasses and continued on to fiddle with his phone as well. It was a self study session in the afternoon.
"Thank you sensei and forgive me." I said glossing over to the classroom full of boys. Some guys were signaling me with a finger going through a hole repeatedly while snickering. Anybody who saw this also snickered under their breaths.
These were the people I spent my 3 years in this school with. So most of the time we would be fooling around if we got the opportunity.
But right now, I wasn't in the mood for making jokes.
I exited the room and rushed over to the farthest toilet in the building while making sure to deny every call that was going into my phone.
I avoided several glances while walking with a fast pace in the hall way. The school was ridiculously big for a highschool for boys. Around 2000 students attend the school so there were some students in the hallway that were either going to the toilet or were tasked by a teacher to do something.
Sometimes, I greeted with a smile to the staff as I don't want them to be suspicious of me even more at the moment.
—we also have the best people investigating the case...
The words of the police chief Nakamura rang in my head as I clenched my teeth.
Slam!
I closed the toilet door behind me and scanned hastily the toilet for other people. I was currently in the first floor and there was a window big enough for me to fit at the end.
After checking the stalls, there weren't anybody here. I was glad.
I went over to the mirror, I looked at myself the usual soft and handsome face I am proud of was a little bit tense.
The phone in my pocket kept ringing and ringing. And finally with trembling hands, I picked up the call.
I put in in loudspeaker since there shouldn't be anybody listening around.
"...Good afternoon, it is chief investigator Takehaya."
I turned on the faucet as strong and loud running water hit the basin drowning some of the words the person over the phone was speaking.
"...regarding the body, I would like to meet up with you and talk about it. Will you be free later today?..." A voice of a man resounded over the phone. The tone of which was half serious and half excited.
I splashed a handful of cold water onto my face.
Beneath the pair of soft looking hands. A creaking and wicked smile a floats.
"Fufufu-..." Stopping the urge to laugh was painful. Oh how it hurts my windpipes.
"Two eyeballs, ten fingers, a tongue, and a pair of earlobes are at the usual place. You can pick them up now." I said suppressing a wide smile.
".ahaha..." The investigator Takehaya could be heard giggling over the phone.
"...HAHAHAHA! AS EXPECTED OF THE HOMICIDAL PSYCHO OF THE CENTURY!....Ahaha, I never thought you could actually kill a celebrity." Takehaya, hysterically announced. Good thing I put it on loudspeaker, if it was on headset I could actually lose my hearing.
"Not at all...although the media didn't mention this...The body is a little bit messed up. You guys would have to cover that up as well."
"Don't worry about that...but seriously? 28 stab wounds? You didn't want her to get a chance...the genitalia is all mangled up."
"She made a move on me first..."
"What the hell. Is keeping that virginity of yours more important? That was an idol you were going to fuck."
"Excuse me, even if she was a princess or goddess she wouldn't make me hard."
"You truly are a psychopath hahaha."
"I have strict preferences when it comes to women."
"You mean little boys and little girls like the chief?"
"Don't compare me with that pedophile. Speaking of which, I am really angry at the moment." I wiped my wet face with a handkerchief I pulled out. As I did that, I massaged my tensed muscles to reveal a more soft and handsome face.
"Huh?"
"Haven't I told you to not call me? I clearly remembered I said that to the chief if police and you directly. But still you went on and called me during class."
"Ah sorry about that. I thought today was a weekend but it seemed that my calendar was off.."
"I see...no worries."
"So how much for the pieces?" The investigator said in a ragged tone. Was this pervert really like body parts that much?
"No need to pay. I don't need money right now. Just make sure you could cover for me next time. And also say hi for the chief for me."
"Yeah sure. Right now seems a little bit too heated, let's wait and see until the media calms down then I'll forward you our next victim."
With that I cut off the call.
Seems like, the case is closed.
I inhaled the air relinquishing the deed I had committed. Thankfully the toilet was seldom used and was most of the time clean as a whistle. That's why there wasn't foul stenches lingering.
I made sure to adjust my smile at the mirror making sure I was genuinely smiling and not wearing the maniac's smile.
Oh yeah. I almost forgot.
I pulled out a stick of cigarette out from the inner pocket of my blazer uniform and light it up with a flip lighter along with it.
I walked up to the large window as I inhaled and savored the nicotine and menthol in my throat and lungs. This helped my windpipes loose tension.
After breathing it out through the window. I brushed off the cherry on the lighter to put it out. Smokers should say it was a waste as there was still much on the stick. However, I am not a consistent smoker.
The after breathing it a little bit made me feel tipsy and allowed me to relax my nerves. Anymore was simply too much and too difficult for me to manage if somebody saw me in this state. I simply do this as a closing ceremony to my deeds and help water out and savor the joy of murder.
I throw the stick into the toilet bowl flushing it.
Sprayed my mouth with breath freshener to rinse the smell of tobacco. And smiled at myself at the mirror once more.
C'est La Vie~
On my way back to my classroom. I noticed that most of the other classrooms I had passed seemed a little bit rowdy. Maybe because it was almost time for dismissal.
There'll be school practices, hanging out, enjoying highschool life as per usual today. Ah, but such joy couldn't be compared to when by ending another persons life.
"Fufufu.."
Well, perhaps I'm a little bit special.
The classrooms were awfully loud. Good thing I was in a good mood so I didn't felt bother by these a little bit. I mean, what do you expect when you were going to attend a school for boys. There was a sense of unity and brotherhood in each classes.
You pick off of one. And you'll get swarmed by the others. That's how it seemed.
I slid open the door to my classroom.
Reflexively, this made my heart palpitate once again.
The usual smell of blood fill my nostrils and the sound of a person dying sang in my ears.
"What did I miss?"
