Dai-Dai turned around in surprise. "Gou Feng, Xia Yi, what's up?", she asked. "H-hello, Gou Feng...", stuttered Lin Lu.
Looking at Xia Yi and Gou Feng waving cheerfully at them, Lin Lu furrowed her eyebrows and thought "Why are Gou Feng and Xia Yi hanging out together?" She covered her mouth. "Xia Yi said he'd help me, but he wouldn't just blurt it out like this, right? I'd better get out of here.", she thought, sliding away slowly.
"Hey! Over there, look out!", someone shouted. "Huh?! ... eep." A football flew straight at Lin Lu's face and smacked it, sending her falling to the ground. As she fell, Gou Feng lunged forward to catch her, catching her arm and pulling it towards him, and putting an arm behind her to stop her from falling. Dai-Dai sighed in relief, and Xia Yi quickly our down his hand that he had held out in mid-air.
"Are you okay?" Asked Gou Feng, letting go of Lin Lu's hand. "Yeah... I'm fine..."replies Lin Lu, with a slight blush creeping up her cheeks.
"Ha! What year is it that you're still wearing leggings like those?", scoffed Xia Yi, laughing and waving his hand at Lin Lu.
Lin Lu quickly drew back her hand. "Jerk! Why'd he have to say something like that all of a sudden?!" "Lu-Lu, I heard a while ago that you also transferred to this school. Have you gotten used to it yet?", asked Gou Feng with a gentle smile on his face, trying to clear the tension in the air.
"Y-yeah... Dai Dai helps me out a lot, it hasn't been too bad.", replies Lin Lu, her heart beat intensifying. Xia Yi covered his mouth and stifled a laugh. Bending forward, Gou Feng said,"That's good. You never did talk much and we can't know if somethings wrong if you don't tell us!" Pinching Lin Lu's cheek, he continued,"If you need anything just ask me okay?" "Uh yeah...okay.", said Lin Lu.
"We'll see you later Lu-Lu."Gou Feng waved at Lin Lu while Xia Yi followed behind with a yawn. "Bye... Gou Feng.", Lin Lu quietly said, waving and blushing. "Gou Feng's pretty lethal after all, huh?", smirked Dai-Dai, covered her mouth with her hand.
"Was it really Xia Yi who called him over? Is he really helping me?", thought Lin Lu,"Just what on earth is going on?"
~ after school ~
"I know you don't have art class today, so let's go to that place I mentioned before!", exclaimed Dai-Dai, smiling widely. "Sure!", Lin Lu replied with a smile.
"Hah?" Lin Lu was suddenly pulled backwards. Grabbing Lin Lu by her collar Xia Yi asked,"Dai Yixin, was it? Sorry, but I gotta borrow this dimwit for a bit." "Huh? Okay.", said Dai-Dai saving awkwardly. " Xia Yi shot a stare at Lin Lu. "Crap...", thought Lin Lu. "When did those two become so chummy?",muttered Dai-Dai, glancing at Xia Yi and Lin Lu with a look of suspicion on her face. "I'm definitely making Lu-Lu spill the beans tomorrow, HAHA.", thought Dai-Dai with an evil smile.
~ at a bridge ~
"Why've you been avoiding me huh? If you blow my cover you're screwed!",Xia Yi said with an annoyed look. "I know, I know...", replies Lin Lu. 'But not avoiding you is even more dangerous', she thought. "So I asked about that thing I'm helping you out with.", said Xia Yi as he began walking forward. 'What did you ask about?', thought Lin Lu. Xia Yi suddenly turned around and stopped in his tracks. Crossing his arms, he scoffed,"No reply? What, so you don't want to know about Gou Feng after all?" "No!", Lin Lu blurted out without thinking, as a habitual response.
Xia Yi shrugged and continued walking forward. "That so? Well forget it, I guess. And after I worked so hard, too." Bending down in helplessness, she thought ,'He's acting like tat on purpose... um! I-I... I want to know... about Gou Feng!' Closing her eyes, Lin Lu shouted,"But I really do want to know. Well, no use fussing over it!" She opened her eyes in surprise.
Xia Yi whispered into her ear,"Man, you girls are so fickle, I swear. Fine let me tell it to you straight! Gou Feng already has a girlfriend."
Lin Lu froze in shock. 'What? 3 years... 3 years and I never told him a thing... and this is how it ends?'
