Chereads / Mortals vs Faeries / Chapter 9 - Guilt

Chapter 9 - Guilt

Jerry felt insanely guilty for letting that girl into the attic.

There was nothing I could do to stop her. He tried to tell himself. Of course, that wasn't true; he was just too much of a push-over.

Jerry never felt guilty when Deserik killed people. He certainly felt in no way responsible... (okay, he totally did).

Right now, he was feeling very responsible. Or perhaps, very irresponsible for sending that child to her death.

Why am I always too afraid to do anything?

"Hey man, are you okay?" A customer asked him.

"Yeah, great. What can I get for you?"

"A pint of your finest mead."

Jerry poured her the drink. "Here you go, mate."

"Chur."

Jerry tapped his foot anxiously.

"Hey, Hans," he whispered to the lonely drunkard. "Man the ship, would ya?"

"Sure son," he groggled, sinking back into unconsciousness.
