She was awakened by small knocks on her door. It was three in the morning. Esther never wake up this hour just to ruin her sleep. She got up from her bed and went to the door to open it. It is Liam who was knocking and greeted her with his puppy eyes.
"I'm going," he said while smiling, uneasy. Her brows knitted. At this hour, where is he going? She is still half-sleep.
"Okay," she only answered.
"No goodbye kiss?"
She closed the door. If whoever might see and hear the both of them, they would think something fishy is going on but this does not concern her. She went back to bed, lazily. She still feels sleepy. Lucky for Liam she is not in the mood to ask.
Liam was left in front of the door wearing a naughty grin. Her sister didn't even bother now to ask about where is he going. Seemed like he is free to do anything today. He left having a controllable smile on the lips. He will have fun today, definitely. But...
"Haven't seen your brother," Esther said while washing the dishes. She was thinking that Liam is still sleeping.
"Maybe, he's at school now," Ella answered after finishing her glass of fresh fruit juice. Fortunately, Liam didn't remember cooking their meal.
"Oh, what an early bird."
She looked at how Esther said those words. It sounded like a different meaning to her. She better ignored that dirty thought and washed the glass she used. She remembered Liam not telling her where he was going at such an early time. The twins knew it for sure. Boys will always be boys and they are mature enough to know what they are doing.
"Have you browsed the school's page?" Esther asked again when she was about to leave the kitchen. It is Esther's habit to always check their school's page every morning hoping that there will be 'no classes' announcement on such a sunny and non-holiday.
"No. Nothing's interesting in there," she answered honestly. The page contains just their propagandas that was posted many times already and who is famous among the famous. Of course, it will always be the Lancasters that you could already create an album for them out of the page.
"Of course. Nothing got your interest, but I'm sure, you'll be happy when you hear this." Esther looked really happy.
"They put your name on it?"
"That's a dream I would put in the very end of my list," Esther answered, fast. "It's Ariela's name who's on top among the topics."
"Really?" She was not surprised. Ariela beat another girl, yesterday. Of course, it has to be Ariela on the top unless other Lancaster's also made their stunts. Not that new.
"Well, according to what I've read, Ariela Lancaster was beaten to life just last night. It happened at the New Gen Bar," Esther said those amazed. The last time she checked, this girl is not really into fighting things especially, gang wars. "Whoever did it is after death," she commented.
"It is Ariela who was beaten to life. Don't you mean the one who did it is death itself?"
"You're saying?"
"I'm saying we better hurry before we'll be late again."
Esther's eyes went big. She really forgot that she is a student and not a news reporter. When Ella saw that Esther moved fast in the kitchen, she went to her room to get ready for school.
If Ariela was really beaten to life then, who could it be? There is no one in town who will do such against the reigning clan unless they are both reigning clans in different towns. This is not going to be good.
"Do you think the one who did it is also a gangster?"
She was surprised not by the question, but Esther already standing outside her room, wearing her uniform, completely. She was fast this time.
"You think a religious group would do it?" She answers her, sarcastically. She closes her room's door. "Ya' know what? Drop the topic. The whole nation is already speaking about it. It's their life, not ours." She started walking out of their apartment. Esther followed.
"Yeah, I know, but what if there'll be a gang war between Lancasters and whoever did it to Ariela? The Lancasters went to the same school we are."
"All we need to do is butt out our business from others." She looked at her while saying these words. She got Esther's point, but she has her point too. If ever Esther's concern happened, there should be some people who are in authority to take proper action about it. Gang wars don't mean, end of the world. It is just all about their thirst for popularity. She knew she might sound irritated about the topic, but she already has enough of it. She was not born to live with fear and to deal with Lancasters. She was born to live her own life. She got a lot of dreams and it does not concern about the Lancasters.
"Got it. Just praying it wouldn't happen while we're at school."
"You can write that prayer on the wind."
"Should we not go to school?"
Instead of answering, she grabs her pulling into a fast walk. They are going to be late if Esther continues her nonsense drama. It is better to be in the classroom than strolling around the bush after the Lancasters' incident. Fortunately, they arrived beating the bell. They made it to their classroom before the door closed. She sighed in relief after she landed on her seat. Just a few seconds when she noticed the atmosphere inside is not good at all. She looked at Esther when she poked her, continuously. She looked pale and really uneasy. When she scanned the room, everybody is silent. This is a miracle!
"Told you not to go to school," Esther almost cried and she can see that almost all of their classmates including the teacher were having the same thought.
Ella spotted two blonds which she knew doesn't belong in this room. They are sitting pretty while eyes locked on the young man that seemed not to notice or just ignoring them. Levane, the only Lancaster in their class. She can say, he is the attitude alike of Sean.
Someone knocked and all their attention was caught on the door. Their teacher hesitated to open it, but she did. A black-haired man came in and locked the door then, faced them. He is not from their class. He looked serious while wearing his untrustworthy smile. Their teacher backs off. This is not going to be good.
"I believe that you are the youngest Lancaster," the man who just came in said to Levane. The two blonds stood up having the same expression of the newcomer.
"Not all beliefs are true. Maybe, ask my father," Levane answers with sarcasm before meeting this man's eyes. He looked calm and not bothered knowing that he is the only Lancaster to defend himself in this room. He knew that he has no one to help him and he can neither hope for help from other Lancasters.
The black-haired man laughed followed by the blonds. "Thanks for the advice. I'm gonna do that later." After the first one said this, the two blonds gave Levane a surprise attack, but he was too quick and ready for it. He jumped off from his seat and landed on the other side of the room. The students screamed in surprise and fear.
"Wasn't expecting from Fontanillas to be as weak as this," Levane smirked that anyone wouldn't find it cute even if he is a pretty face. It inflicts something hazardous. He looked at the blonds with dismay then, to the black-haired man who looked didn't like what he said. "Three versus one? Old versus young? From what I remembered, Ariella did it on her own. Your little sister had all the time to fight back, but she chose to be such a damsel in distress."
"She didn't do anything!" The other blond shouted to Levane.
"Is that what she told you? Then, why are you here? Have I done something that wronged you?" Levane trying to point out, but his intention is to really divert his attackers' minds.
"Great, kid!" The black-haired faked his laugh then, smirked. "But that doesn't apply with our rule."
"Rule? Didn't know Fontanillas had one." Levane equaled his smirk.
The students inside were feeling so much troubled by the scene. They knew that whatever happens inside will get them all involved. Their teacher can neither speak nor move. All she can do is tremble upon the sight. Her prayers were blurry as her naked eyes. How are they going to save themselves if they are amid chaos, right now?
Ella felt how Esther holds her sleeves so tight while trembling beside her. She is hiding her face behind her neck. When the blonds took their move again, Ella stood up dragging Esther by her side and pushing the chair facing her using her left foot. It slid straight to Levane's direction which he took as an opportunity to attack the black-haired while facing the blonds. The chair hits the black-haired in his private part. Then the other students stood up from their seats and find a safe corner to not be hurt by the on-going fight. That was a fast and strong kick that Levane exerted on the chair. No one thought about what Ella has done.
Levane is a well-trained to say. His moves were near to perfection, but he got only a few styles that would make him lose against his opponent if they have a great mind in mastering at once someone's physical ability. The blonds have a heavy fist as it was shown on how Levane endured those pretty punches. It might not be noticed, but those caused him a bit dizzy. Fortunately, he was able to take down the blonds. Only one to go.
"You're good, huh," the last one standing said in a mocking way. Levane answered him with an insulting smirk. They came here for their own shame. "Let's just see if you can still have that pretty f--"
The door was opened, forcefully followed by a loud thud and a body was thrown inside the room which caused afraid students to scream.
"Lancaster, out!" A loud voice echoed that anyone who would hear will tremble, but Levane didn't. He only stood still looking at the man, boringly. "Lost your hearing?"
"Get your ass out, Lancaster," he said after a while. Levane did not want someone butting in with his business even his brothers. Even they are siblings, they are still rivals in everything. The public appearance would not make it.
"Wow! Are you gonna show something dramatic? Would that make us cry?" The black-haired spoke again. Making his presence noticeable.
"Okay. Call us when you want some help," Gaspar Heiden said before leaving closing the door that won't be closed well.
"Idiot!" Levane cussed before turning back his look to his enemy. "You wanna cry like a pooping dog?" He continued.
"What a proud! I'll make you eat poop, pussy leftover— UGH!"
Someone behind who just came in quietly tugged up the black-haired man's hair before knitting his arms behind, effortless.
"Say that again?" Sean's voice hushed as he said it, coldly. His presence made them feel the cold of the freezing Antarctic. Before the man could even reply, he pushed him passing to Levane the honor of finishing his own business. It is not his to deal with.
"They came first," Levane said it first before Sean can say any word to him. When Sean nodded, he dropped, harshly the unconscious body of his final hit.
"I fired your crews just, yesterday. The agency is working on it now."
"Ya!" Levane was not surprised by the news. He was just about to complain when Sean handled him an envelope.
"It's a cafe, not sluts' haven."
"Err... That was a strategy, I thought," Levane tried reasoning out. Sean left without saying a word. Levane was left massaging his nape before deciding to come out.
The Lancasters were out already, but still, no one moved inside the room. They were waiting for someone to clean up the mess left inside.
"That was Sean, right?" Esther whispered.
Ella's attention was diverted to Esther. She nodded.
"I think he is the scariest," she commented.
"Mm.."
The fact that Levane, Lancaster's silent, but monstrous kid, couldn't protest against Sean, showed how he respects his older brother. Though Gaspar is older than them, respect can't be found.
"What do we do now?" Someone from their classmates asked.
"ASSHOLES!"
"We didn't know, okay? Didn't even see her there."
Seraphine felt like her brain is about to bulge. Her brothers and cousins did not even think twice before attacking the Lancasters. She is not worried about the issue with Lancasters especially that Ariella who enjoyed beating her, but she is worried for the Fontanillas to be beating around a danger zone. She is sure that it was her whom she has seen. Although she looked not minding at all, they did not know why she has been in the Lancaster's territory. Making war with the Lancasters is just fair, but dealing with the Agamnons is hell.
"If ever Shannon is there, why could it be? They became missing in action after having their new leader."
"Wow! Are you an Agamnon's member that you were sure about it?"
"Sera, you seemed too afraid. She is just a girl and we got a lot of boys," it was her cousin.
Seraphine smirked out of disappointment.
"You're clueless, man. She can drain an entire army alone if she would," her brother said, truthfully.
"Yes and also, she always get her brothers' back. They are as intact like an old rock living in hell for millions of years," she added.
