Chereads / Dragon Heris / Chapter 8 - This is Me

Chapter 8 - This is Me

It had been many hours since they started the road on their way to Dahem. The sun had already marked more than the half day, and the cabin had remained small behind his back to much.

They had some stops along the way because "The nameless girl" had never ridden a horse, or at least she did not remember how to do it.

So after a few falls, scratches, bruises and deviations from the road ... Eliot decided to tie the horse of "The woman without a name" to his horse. Walking slowly but surely, the horse followed a few meters behind with the woman reclining quietly on the back of the horse. She knew that she had no memory of her past life, but she certainly felt that her body had never ridden on horseback.

The trip was entertaining. Everything was new and shiny for her. The trees of the forest to each larger or wider, with their huge leaves that sounded with the wind. Some strange animals crossed the road. Strange and adorable. But the most entertaining was the stories that the brothers told.

-And then, this idiot spends the night in the barn with a Succubus !! Haahahaha !! - Eliot laughed as if it was the funniest joke of all. - I mean, imagine his face when he woke up and saw the Succubus and not the woman of your dreams !! Hahahaha !!

Kain did not really like the story, because it was about him.

-Haha, that's funny. Did we talk about when you coaxed the mermaid?

Eliot's expression changed totally.

-That's different, little brother, you know that with your singing they ... hypnotize you or something ...

- Yes of course, and how coaxed you to go from the forest to the beach. You were your only one In addition, the succubi also hypnotize you.

-To see to see ... -interrupted the "Girl without a name" before Eliot spoke. - What you try to tell me, is that you both let you cajole easily for a woman or for a magical being? That happens to all men and that I have no memory to remember.

The brothers returned to talk about the issue and make more jokes about different situations that had happened throughout their lives. She was already tired of listening to jokes without tastes or stories to blame her face. Brothers, I suppose. No, she needed to look for something that would make her remember, to know more about what she did not know. And somewhere I would have to start if I did not want to keep listening to those ... stories.

-Guys, could we change the subject? -she dared to ask. -I mean, I'm still a little curious with all the information I received this morning, for example, What are nymphs?

She remembered that Dante mentioned that, before, in the house.

-Ah, the nymphs ... the truth is that Grandpa knows better about it. -Eliot answered

-Well, but you must know something, right? - the woman asked.

-The truth is only that they are beings that control the elements, each a different element. -Kain said without turning around to look at her.

-And who is responsible for the hybrids. -Eliot's tone changed as he said those words.

"The nameless girl" raised an eyebrow, looking at Eliot.

-What does that mean?

-Nymphs are the only beings that have a connection with any living being. That is, they feel and communicate with any creature: animal or plant, and they can fall in love with them.

-Yes, and as a result, the nymphs give them a human body to live with them. -Eliot's tone sounded angry.

-And that's why the rest of the races despise the hybrids, they think they are aberrations that should not exist in human form.

- So, that's what happened to you? I mean, a nymph transformed to you?

-No, we are children of a hybrid, it is the only thing we know at least what Grandpa told us.

-Dante is a hybrid? -The woman was surprised enough to deduce that Dante was the hybrid.

- No way,- Kain said, thinking of the image of Grandpa as a hybrid.

-Grandpa is a Nordic, illusive - Eliot seemed to keep up with the conversation, however, when he spoke his words sounded very dry.

-Grandpa, -continued Kain. -adopt to us when we were very young. We do not remember our parents, we do not know what happened to them either.

-Oh ... I'm sorry ...

-Ok, the talk is over! - Eliot interrupted, stopping the horse. - We stop here

Eliot under the horse and I take the reins to get him out of the way and with it the horse of "the girl without a name. He did not go in much in the forest and tied the horse to a tree, and then took one of the bag of food that it was carrying on its back.

Kain and the woman followed him. Kain understood the reaction of his brother, but the girl still had many doubts ahead and still could not understand, how frustrating that situation was for them. So she decided to remain silent and not continue with the conversation.

The brothers settled on the ground, with the cool grass that helped them as a cushion. From the bag they were carrying they took out a delicious cheese and a loaf of bread that would serve as lunch.

The girl, on the other hand, sat on the tree opposite and began to ask about the answers to the thousands of questions that flooded her head. One of them was: What did the pendant on her neck mean? The one who had offered the brothers a way to pay for the help. He had to know if he had any special value for her before handing it over to the brothers.

She takes it between her fingers and watches him closely. It did not look like a cheap marketplace gem. It looked like a metal other than silver but it looked like it was. It was divided by three rings that seemed to be able to separate, but no matter how hard she forced herself, they did not move from her position. Some symbols surrounded the rings, engraved in the metal, and in the centre that sphere, of different intense colours that seemed as if they were small frozen fireworks and circling on the same axis. It seemed to him precise and as if without magic it had been created and frozen there. But what did that pendant have to do with her? Would it be her family?

Kain watched her for a moment as he devoured his bread and cheese. She seemed lost.

- Hey! This ... girl without a name. Take. -Said Kain, handing him some bread with the cheese.

-Thank you. -Said the girl extending her arm to take the loaf of bread.

She ate a couple of bites, but her gaze seemed so lost as she ate that Kain thought she needed to do something to get it out of her own mind. He could understand the frustration of not knowing anything about yourself.

-You know what? We would have to find a name for you, I begin to tire of calling you "The girl without a name"

- I already have a name, I just do not remember it.

-Well, when you remember we recover it, for the time being, we could use a temporary one.

-What's so, "weird"? -said Eliot, mocking the conversation.

The woman did not respond to it. She knew that Kain was right, She did not know how long it would take her to remember her memory and could not continue to be called "The girl without a name" that made her remember that she had no past.

She looked back at her pendant, looking for some symbol or something that made her look up a name for her, something that would give her a connection to her past. But nothing was familiar to her, everything was so new to her.

Kain then observed the pendant she held in her hands. He could barely make out the pendant or its shape, but he could see clearly how the sphere in the centre shone as if it were a new star. Then he had an idea.

-I already have it. How about "Nova"?

-Not going? Why? -asked the curious woman since she did not dislike him at all.

-Well, Nova means new, and you're living a new life, from scratch. It could be a good name. In addition, it also means "very bright star" and your pendant, -Kain pointed out. - It reminded me of that. So, that can be also a connection with your past.

-It would also be easier to say "The nameless girl" - said Eliot. He did not dislike the idea of naming a woman, so it would be easier for everyone.

-I do not dislike ... And if that is true that this is my new life, at least for now. -She looked at her pendant thinking about the Kain's idea for her name. Maybe that's what the middle star meant. - Okay, then my new name is Nova.

He smiled, introducing himself for the first time.half
