Chapter 20 - ACT XVIII: PERMAFROST

"The Battle Knows No End!"

He looked forward, the end of the hall still lit. He started to walk limply to the direction of the dark room where he saw his beloved nephew being dragged, crying for help.

"This only alters my mind. If I fight it I can go back. I must bring her back." He whispered to himself.

Halfway through, in his path he saw a gray and odd creature. The skeleton-like creature covered in black leather clothes and a top hat looked at him.

"Hello, Edgar! Looks like you are still locked with your own guilt. You see! I'm impressed that even you hate nightmares, you still want them. Why?" The creature asked.

"Edward. I need to save her! Don't stop me." Edgar replied and continued to walk slowly.

The creature blocked him and with a grin in its dead smile he said, "You can't. You're too late and you know that. You want to bring her back to your friend's hands even though you know you can't. You need to stop. You can't bring back time. I know you love her so much. But I know she won't be happy with what is going on with you. You need to go back from you're reality not this nightmare."

His eyes drenched with tears he used his hand to clear his vision. "It's not your fault that she died. It's not their fault that they can't help either. He planned it all out. It's not your fault that your childhood friend, Christina, was lost, your nephew, in that game of yours."

"I could have saved her from him but no I let her leave my sight and left her alone in the dark streets. I am a horrible friend. I should have been there for her. I should be the one who was killed!" Edgar shouted back.

"You know I understand what you have to face in that incident. The one closes to you the truest friend you have ever had. But in this once we truly spoke you should not stay. Work hard. So that even her last wish for you to become a doctor or scientist will become reality." Edward replied in a calmly manner.
