Chapter 1 - Bluebell Falls

R O S A L I N E🌿✨

"Books, more books, clothes..and um..uh."

"Rosaline!! Are you ready flower?"

"In a minute Aunt Jasmine!" I answered, half yelling as I focus on stuffing all my belongings into the tiny luggage.

Smiling down proudly, I managed to fit everything within a zip. Then, I ran up to a large mirror, placed in the corner of my room, to check myself one last time. Hoping I look half as decent for a good first impression.

My shoulder-length, ash brown hair was in a wavy mess and my curly bangs made it look extra worse. It was definitely a wrong choice, for wanting to have bangs, on my forehead like those cute korean girls. I guess, it doesn't do well on natural curly hair's.

I'm wearing a white t-shirt with flower printings and all its name on it. Paired it with, and tucked into my favourite ripped mom jeans which was folded up to above my ankle. Then gave it a finally touch with a black belt and cute art socks. I'm artsy plant mom kinda style.

In a swift, I put on my vanilla lip balm and adjust the sliver spectacle around my eyes. I admire my hazel irises mix in dazzling blue in the middle, a beautiful trait I got from my mother, Daisy. That's what my beloved Aunt Jasmine; mother's sister, would always say.

I've never met my parents, but I do know that they were both powerful people..that was what my grandmother told me. Fun fact, in our family we have a tradition to name every newborn baby after a flower, or has that meaning in it. And my mother chose Rosaline, that's because she adored roses. However, I was more into lavenders and daisies.

I didn't know why..but Aunt Jasmine would always avoid answering me when I questioned her about how my parents passed on. Every time she'd brush me off as if I was dust on her shoulder. I thought it was too much of a sensitive subject for her, so I never asked again.

"Flower?! What are doing in there? You're going to be late!" Aunt Jasmine warned and I jolt out of reverie, hastily, I grab my yellow Kanken bag along with my white luggage and tug them out of my room.

I'm really going to miss my bed, my plants, and all my mangas; yes, I'm obsessed with anime. The thought sadden me a bit, specifically when I'm not going to wake up to Aunt Jasmine's yelling and the aroma of her waffles, for the next three months.

And did I forget to mention, I got transferred into Bluebell Falls Academia?

Its a school not only for witchcraft, but also for other supernatural beings such as..werewolves, vampires, mermaids who can turn their glorious...fish-tails into legs. Also fairies, and many other creatures, you name it.

As long as they are able to control, have a mind to think like humans and are able to actually look like humans too. They'd be enrolled to the academy. However, to the outsider's eyes, the school is just known for troubled, typical rich kids.

"Come on cinnamon. Its time to go." I ushered the honey-golden-brown fur, kitten into my hoodie pocket as I put on my black martens boot. I was so relieved when I found out, pets were allowed at the academy, or else I'll never survive without him; cinnamon.

Sprinting out of the house, I shove my luggage into the back of Aunt Jasmine's car and plopped myself, comfortably into the front passenger seat.

"Are you nervous for your first day? After all..you'll be the new girl there, enrolling in when its in the middle of the year. I mean who would want that?! Why can't you just wait until next year?" Aunty complained drastically and I rolled my eyes at her, smiling as I pet cinnamon's head.

"I'm already 16, Aunty. You transferred me there like 4 years late."

"That's because I don't want you getting mix with those..what do you call them? Vampires? Werewolves? They're atrocious arrogant monsters!" She exclaimed dramatically and I laughed at her when she made a weird, disgusted face. Aunt Jasmine, took care of me since I was born, she treated me as if I was her own child.

And is very protective. Once I remembered, she punched a teenager's nose for he was picking on me when I was ten. That's because I tripped on my own and he laughed at me, instead of being a gentleman and help.

I am abnormally clumsy..you see.

Anyways, Aunt Jasmine is just like a mother to me...its always only been me and her all these years. She'd never bothered to date even though men be chasing after her like beasts, as she said her love only belongs to me. My heart flutters like soft wings of a butterfly, whenever I replay the moment she said that, in my head.

"Don't worry mom, I'll be careful." I reassured, almost playfully as I kiss her cheeks. And her lips stretched upwards, show off her beautiful, deep dimples.

Aunt Jasmine, is naturally gorgeous and look too young for her age when she is already 30. But her flawless features and invisible wrinkles, give her the look of a 22 year old. She has long black raven hair, big grey orbs like my grandfather's, and a goddess body.

One the other hand, me, I have a pair of dimples too but its light and almost unnoticeable if you don't look close enough. Also, when I get too overjoyed and excited, I'd be bringing out my teeth, revealing the left missing tooth in my mouth. Aunt Jasmine said that it was adorable, I said it was an entrance for bees to go through.

"We're here!" She announced, parking her car at a nearby tree. I almost didn't realised we were deep in the forest. Looking up from cinnamon, whose cozy on lap, and to the surroundings..I nearly gasp at the sight.

The academy was majestic, almost like Hogwarts from Harry Potter!

"Stop gawking and grab your things, we need to get your timetable and room key." Aunt Jasmine say as I immediately open the door and jump out of my seat, wanting to explore fancy place. Although it was not as bright and colourful as I thought it would be, it sure is luxurious.

The spacious entrance towards the castle-like school was ghostly empty and surrounded by a tall fence. It was only 11.30am, so the students must be all in class.

Taking my bag and luggage from Aunty, we walk through the automatically opened gate, passing by an angel fountain and finally into the building.

"Hi, how may I help you?" A woman behind a counter at the side, asked with a polite smile and Aunty went straight to her.

"Hi, I'm here to help my niece settled in, she just got transferred."

"Oh, then you must be Ms. Jasmine and Ms. Rosaline." The woman realised as she checked her laptop, handing me a gold key and a piece of paper, which was my room key and timetable.

"Everything you need will be in your locker, 2218. The combination code is six 0's, you can change it later on. And your room number is 147. Welcome to Bluebell falls Academia and I hope you enjoy your stay."

After giving the lady a 'thank you', Aunt Jasmine lead me to my room, as if she wandered these halls many times before.

Of course she did stupid, she was a student here many years back.

"This school hasn't change a tiny bit." She mumbled under her breathe as we strolled pass many white doors with black numbers on them. Pretending, I didn't hear anything, we finally reach room 147.

"Well, welcome to your new room." Aunt Jasmine cheers as she insert the key into the keyhole and twist the doorknob open. Not to my surprise, the room was clean but very..plain and old. It had a glass desk, near a tall mirror leaning against the closet, and a single-size bed by the windows.

I need to do some back-breaking makeover.

Luckily, Aunt Jasmine had helped me packed some of my plants, mangas and other stuff from the house for me to decorate the room. So it'd make me feel more like home. She had ordered someone working at the academy, to take the boxes from our house and place it in this room a week back.

Ah there it is..I eyed the five big boxes, all

stacked up in the corner.

At least there's a nice view and a cool seat by the window. Also there's a small bathroom in here, so you don't have to share with others.

Its like an apartment for one.

"I'm gonna miss you, and cinnamon annoying presence dearly." Aunt Jasmine cried, after analysing the room and checking for pests. She embrace her arms around me and I did the same, taking in the relaxing warmth she supply me with.

"I'm going to miss you very much too." I whispered as cinnamon joined in the cuddle, resulting in both of us giggling at his jealousy.

"I love you, call me whenever you are free okay? Eat three meals a day, don't get involve with hooligans, and absolute no boys unless I approve. Understand me? " Aunt Jasmine pestered and I nodded, chuckling at her worries. With one last kiss on the forehead, goodbye, she reluctantly got out and I was left alone in the room...that needs more colour and cinnamon already sleeping in.

Huffing, I took off my doc martens boots and place it in a wooden crate by the door, where I'd also put my nike air force and slipper in. The entire place was squeaky clean, which I really appreciated as there'd be lesser work to do.

I change the bedsheet and pillow cases into plant themed, and added my favourite blanket to complete the cozy atmosphere. After, I place cinnamon back onto the bed and I continued to put away my clothes, books and many other stuff, on the desk and shelfs.

Finally, I fantasied it with fairy light bulbs around the room and my baby plants hanging by window. Once I was comfortable and proud of my work, I went and took a warm relaxing shower to ease my tense muscles.

To have myself feel even more calm, I put lavender-scented essential oils into my humidifier and let it disperse into the air. Breathing in the scent, my eyes got droopy and my body, weak like seaweed.

I've changed clothes and wore a grey, baggy sweatpants with an oversized black t-shirt. Yawning from exhaustion, I got comfy in bed with cinnamon.

It was only 7.35pm, and my energy was drained to the bottom from all the shifting and organising. Too tired to find dinner, I set an alarm from my phone, not wanting to be late on the first day of school.

My hands stroke cinnamon's soft, heavenly fur as the pleasant sensation got me completely seeped into darkness.
