I work for a private research organization, we mainly focus on the archival of anomalies that occur in nature. But not too long ago, I was sent out to the strangest one I've had yet. It was in Northern Canada, and it was winter, but someone reported something strange about the forest. It was... white. Now I say that in a way, that makes it seem like it's just the snow, but isn't.
I was driving for about an hour before I finally arrived on the trail, I found a clearing and parked my truck, as I got out I was hit with the wave of cold air. It stung my nose and out of habit I covered my face for a moment before taking away my hands and looking around for the trail. I took a while to find it but I eventually did, you could see a little bit of dirt through the top layer of snow and so I started my trek there.
About ten minutes in, I noticed the temperature had dropped, but that didn't stop me. I made my mistake here, I kept going farther down the trail, until eventually, I found a tree. Now, it wasn't like the other trees, this one was, a bright white, like the snow on the ground. I just had to look at it, and when it touched it, it started turning red, as if it was bleeding. I was terrified, because my hand was covered in blood, I thought it was maybe poisonous until I looked back and saw blood was dripping down the trunk of the tree and onto the ground.
I could see the vapor coming off of the blood, this wasn't just a tree, it was a living, breathing, warm blooded animal... the forest is alive.
