I suddenly woke up again. Oh, maybe I dozed off after dinner.
"Good morning, young lady." One of the maids said. I was sudden conscious of my surroundings. This wasn't my room. It was bigger than my room. "Master is waiting for you in the dinning room." She escorted me out.
"Good morning, little one." Dad greeted me and motioned for me to sit. "I know its a lot to take in but let me explain after we eat." He looked serious.
"Okay." I glance at the food in front of me. There was a lot. I don't know what is happening but I need to trust my dad. "I'm done." I exclaimed after I ate a lot so the food wouldn't be wasted. It still looked like there is enough for everyone.
"Let's go." Dad motioned for me yo come. As we walked out of the dinning hall, a large hallway full of extravagant decor displayed itself. There were also a lot of picture or paintings of people who were looking back at me as I glanced on each one. "They are your ancestors." Dad said in a matter - of - fact tone like nothing wad new to him.
"Here we are. Your great grandma, Selina Marshall." He pointed out to beautiful old lady with ocean colored eyes. She looked at me with love. "She is one of the founders of Stratos University. She is very well-known in the field of magic. She is the best among the best. Beside her is her husband, of course." He laughed at his joke. "He is Lucifer Marshall. The owner of your school. He built it with passion for the new generation. He was good at weapon wielding and great at magic. That is why your school has a curriculum for weapon wielder."
"Next, they are Gregory and Sophia Marshall. They were at the top in during their generation. They are your grandparents." He pointed to a new pair they looked like the best alright.
"Here," he pointed to another man and wife. "are your parents, Edison and Margarette Marshall." He looked sad. "Also that is me." he pointed at one of the boys in the family picture next to my grandparents picture.
"What happened? You look so sad dad." he was shocked when he heard 'dad' coming from me. "What? Is it bad to call you dad?" I frowned.
"No, no, darling its alright. I was just shocked. After all you just knew who your parents are. Also, I am your uncle."
"Oh but in my case dad, you are still my dad, because you were there ever since I was little." I hugged him tight to let him know I really mean it.
"Let us now start the story." He hugged me back and gave me a box.
"The Marshalls was one of the elite magicians and wielders for years, until the time when you were born. Ever since the Marshalls only had male babies born to it. So, everyone was excited to know the next one to be born in the Marshall estate was a girl, you." He poked my nose.
"You must know that there is a group who raid the elite because they despise the government of magic and wielders. Their aim was to rule the government to bring out their own personal justification."
"So, no one knows that we marshalls still exist except this manor?"
"Yes, your grandmother stayed here until they declared this place a safe house an built a new house where every magician knows we live. A decoy of some sorts."
"The Perkins, the family who has served us for years, are guarding the house ever since we came here on the most tragic day for the Marshalls, which contributed to our extinction."
"I have something for you, my little one." He suddenly moved a picture to the side and a bookshelf revealed itself. "We have a lot of photo albums and we also keep here the very important things."
"Wow, can I get the most recent one?"
"Sure, but before that we have a big box of stuff left for you. They came from everyone in the family, your mom, dad and grandparents."
"I thought everything was burnt to ashes at the last house. How can these be still intact?"
"They always leave the important stuff here. Especially memories and gifts even before you were born." He lifted it up and gave it to me. It was kind of heavy.
"Wow, there really is a lot in here." I peeked in a little.
"I think all the history of the Marshall are in another box along with all the researches they made about magic and other stuff." He pointed to another box. "Look at the box it still says 'Baby girl' on it." He pointed at the fron of the box I was holding. It made me smile knowing I was loved even before I was born.
"I still need to give you something so if you want to look at the box you can place it in your bedroom so you can go back through it later." So I went and hid it inside the study table cabinet which can be locked by a spell only the owner knows. After all the casting O went back to the hallway where father was still looking his brother's or my dad's photo together. "What's the matter dad?"
"If your father was here, he would be the best dad he can be and spoil you a lot. Of course, your mom would spoil you too." He laughed. "Maybe everyone will. I guess I need to spoil you a lot for their sake." He smiled at me.
"Oh no dad. It already a lot." I faked panicking and waving my hands like I was saying 'no more'. Then we both laughed.
"Here is another one." He handed me two boxes. "It came with the will your parent's and granparent's. It came with a letter." He also handed me two letters.
