"What's going on? Are you hurt? Is that guy bothering you?" he quizzes as Cole closes the distance between us.
"Please,. Help me. Don't let him get any closer... Please..." I begged him. "Ok, you have nothing to worry about. Just get behind me." he reassured me.
I hide behind him, clutching on the tail of his leather jacket. I heard him before he appeared in my line of sight. 'You will pay for what you did bitch!!! You and you're mother!' he announced furiously. His wrath is evident on his blood streak eyes, fuming in anger and about to attack. 'Hey you, Diego. Get out of the way and don't intervene.' Cole snickered.
'I don't think I can just let you have your way with this little lady right here Cole. Let her go and go home. My dad wouldn't need to hear about this if you relented.'
Diego is the son of the leader of the drug cartel in this side of the state. But that doesn't mean that he is tainted. That he is like the others from his clan. He has always kept his distance from his father's business and live like a regular guy his age. Partying, drinks, girls. A lot of them. But no drugs. Never in his life has he touched a pack, that's what I heard from Cole when he talks about work to Mom during his sobber moments.
'F*ck you! You son of a b*tch! You think you can manipulate me? You think I' m scared of your father? You dumb ass! ' Cole shouted.
' Well you should be. ' a voice came from across the street and a loud sound of a gun shot followed. I scream in fear and that' s when Cole dropped dead on the ground.
Mr. Lopez, the man across the street shoot Cole right straight on the head. And now he is dead. I am now free. Me and my mother are now free of the devil. Diego's father saved us. Diego's father killed Cole.
I didn't feel any pity for the man lying dead in a pool of blood. I can only feel disgust and relief that all would be over. The torment.
With that thought in mind, my vision darkened and I can feel my body falling. I didn't hit the ground, strong arms caught me right on time. When I opened my eyes, I see him.
Diego. Eyes full of concern and worry. Then I finally let the darkness take me.
