It's safe to say that the first time we met was definitely not your typical female lead meets male lead in a crisis situation. Rather, it was quite the opposite.
"Mom, I told you I'm not going to give you more money! You keep gambling it away and I need to live my own life!" I yelled into the phone as I marched angrily through the road.
With a heavy sigh, I slowed down my pace and started to silently stroll through the street, staring longingly into the shop windows, wishing I could afford to buy what I want. Suddenly, I bumped into a harsh tabletop, knocking not only it over but me as well and we both are sent crashing down to the floor.
Just as I hissed in pain as I felt the trickle of blood slithering down my knee, I felt the pounding of footsteps against the floor and slowly stood up with my legs feeling like jelly.
"What the hell is wrong with you woman! Can't you see a bloody table in front of you or are you just dumb?" Seethed the voice with an indignant tone.
"I'm really sorry, I must have been lost in my own thoughts and-" I was cut short from my sentence as the man interrupted me hastily.
"I don't want to hear your damn excuses! Just tell me how you're gonna pay for the damage?"
By this time, the whole line of shops were aware of the argument taking place and all eyes were set on us.
My cheeks red hot in anger and embarrassment, I too raise my voice and say," If... you would have let me finish my sentence, I was going to tell you I will pay for all damages. Just tell me how much, 20 dollars? 30?"
His sarcastic laugh seemed to echo before he rolled his eyes at me and said," This table is very expensive and looking at the damage, about 500 dollars should do it-"
My eyes wide open and jaw to the floor, I exclaim in much honesty, "500 dollars! Are you mad? I can't pay that much, I barely earn a 100 in two weeks and I'm supposed to pay this much now?!"
"Not my problem."
And this, is how I first met you, rather, got entangled with you.
