The town of Zaviedo, my first town in this game and if I had to say how it looked like, I would be… wordless. I don't know whether all towns in this game are like this or not but the town of Zaviedo is the trademark peaceful town. The town is no bigger than a village, to be honest, but there is a certain aesthetics to it that differentiates it from a village. The town was situated smack in the middle of the forest with no clear roads or anything and had at most 100-200 houses or buildings. And under the yellowish-red tint of the setting sun, the town looked extraordinarily … beautiful.
Also, I might be wrong here but the town, from afar, seems a little weird with no uniformly sized houses or anything with crisscrossed road patterns and no fences or anything marking down parks and residential areas. But come to think of it, since this is a town for the people of different races, even beasts, I wonder whether the parks would be simply parks.
"Welcome to the town of Zaviedo!" says mama Ilfur as she walked towards the town. But right when she walked into the perimeter of the town, a message popped up.
I looked at the map and sure enough there was a town symbol right in the middle of the Brimlow Woods named Zaviedo. And there was also a portal here, thank goodness!
That's nice, I thought but the next message made me frown a little.
Opening the Quest Menu, I saw that out of the three primary quest slots, one was filled with a question mark. Clicking on the question mark, it pops into a blaze of fire and reveals the new quest.
You are a Divine Son of the Heavens. Every path that you take is worshipped by the commoners and nobles alike. Poets and bards across the oceans write stories about you and your adventures and how mighty you once were. But when one becomes too great, he becomes lonely too. After all, one cannot be a mighty warrior unless he knows his roots and this town, the town of Zaviedo is your root. Understand the town like you were born here, know every tiny crevices of this town and help the residence of this town so that once you rise to the pinnacle of existence, you will have a place to call home and not be surrounded by complete strangers. Objective: Stay in the town for more than 1 month game time and get to know about the residences. Reward: Increased relationship with the residence and all benefits with it. Depending on your completion rate, you might even be able to purchase a house here. Failure: Leaving the premises of the town in this time-frame will spell doom for you. Monsters, slave-hunters and all kinds of evils will hunt you down constantly. Note: All portal systems will be blocked during this time-frame by town guard. Note: you can technically leave the town if you can overcome all the above troubles but best of luck with that. Have fun!> Is the system teasing us to try and challenge the town guard? Man, I wonder how many douches fell for this. But really, 1 month game time is nearly 1 week real time, it would be hella boring for 1 week! What the hell! And to make it worse, I've never heard of this mandatory quest in the forums to begin with. And thus, to confirm, I called my three friends, who have completed their game set up by now. Rubik: Guys, did you get a mandatory quest to stay in the town for 1 whole game month? I sent a whisper to the group but their replies were a little different. Remus: Fuck you, mother-fucking arsehole! I've to serve 10,000 servings of meals to all hungry children in the slums! Fuck 'em all! I want to killllll monsters!!!!! Odin: I've to recite prayers to my Lord … for 5000 times… this is my 20th times and my throat is as parched as twigs in a desert. Murrick: I've got to skin 100 monsters a day for whole two weeks and then I've got to study human anatomy for a whole week before having to give a 'ideological' test. I think I will leave this place as a deranged doctor. By the way, is that all you have to do? Live in a town for a whole week? You are lucky, bastatd. By the way, if you don't know who are who, let me clarify, Remus is the character name of Eric, Odin is for chinu and Murrick is for Sammy. Murrick: Where are you anyway, Rubik? Rubik: I'm in a town called Zaviedo in the middle of the Brimlow Woods. It's a special place only for races except humans. I don't know anything other than that though. I'm just entering the town. Where are you guys? Murrick: I'm in the town of Vinea. You must've heard of it. Remus: What the fuck are you doing in the City of Thieves and Robbers? What Remus says is true. There are a few towns and cities which is famous throughout the lands for its peculiarities. In fact, there are more than a dozen of them and they are hotspots of newbie spawns. The hotspot for thieves and other stealth-based players is the city of Vinea. Brimlow town isn't a normal hub for newbie spawn but since the outskirts of the Brimlow Woods are filled with low-leveled mobs, it is a little famous for all the 'dares.' Murrick: I selected an assassin-type class human in the character. Rubik: Ooh! That's special! What was it? Murrick: It's a class called Silencio. I don't know exactly what it does but from what my Divine Follower says, this is one of the most unique sub-classes of assassins. Currently, I'm one of the reserve members of an assassin guild named Serenity. I don't know their positions but they look kinda cool, to be honest. What about you, Rubik? Did you choose a non-human based race? Rubik: *nod* *nod* My race is called Trickster with a mysterious bloodline. By the way, I'm a demi-human and that's why it's a little difficult for me to go into human towns easily. Remus: *smirk* the only people whom you could trick are babies. Lol! Rubik: Do you want me to visit you tonight and give you a medicine for intelligence. I swear I will NOT pump your brain full of nitrogen. Murrick: Guys, no gay-talk in this group.. Hey, Remus, were you able to transform yourself into a girl or did you become a trap? Remus: *middle finger* fuck you, four-eyed assassin. FYI, I'm a respected and powerful Disciple of Chaos and I'm currently in the Holy Metropolis of Beroux. Hmph! If you dare, come here and beat me, dickface! Murrick: … *smirk emoji* Rubik, I take back my words. Also, count me in tonight's Eric raid. Rubik: Roger that. I will book a hotel room for his brother so that we can have all the fun we want with that soggy piece of shit. Murrick: Good, good. By the way, why is Odin so quiet? What's up, man? Odin: Sorry guys, I was in the middle of my prayers. These priests are not letting their eyes off me. Rubik: Where the hell are you? Odin: I'm in Veszus… it's a necropolis. I chose the Fallen Angel race as my main while I was forced to the position of Direct Disciple in the evil cult of Demon-faced Angels. Remus: Wow… it seems like my luck isn't the worst in here… phew… Odin: …Someone make this guy stop…I'm tired… … By the time I closed the whisper window, we had already reached the center of the town which consisted of just one building. Yes, one building and that building was nearly 100meters tall with a radius of 300meters. I … don't know why I never spotted this huge thing from far away?... strange. "Ooh! Ooh! A' we at grampa Oddus house?" said one of the cubs. "Grandpa Oddus?" I ask inquisitively to which mama Ilfur replied mysteriously, "You will see." So, as she said it, she banged on the huge wooden door with loud thumps. The bangs were loud enough to rouse the entire neighborhood but she didn't stop. After a while, the doors were slowly opened and a human stepped out. I gawked at the person because the human was a girl of not more than 20 years old, or so she looked like. The girl wore a typical maid uniform from animes and had a busty bosom, big enough to drop all 'oppai-lovers' dead on track. She stood at nearly 1.6 meters tall and had long blonde hair which draped over her shoulders like a curtain while a large smile was plastered all over her. But the most important fact of all was that she wasn't an npc. She was an actual player. "What a surprise, Miss Ilfur. You came at the right time, Master Oddus was just going to have a meeting with Mr. Quinn. Come, please join us!" she said in a tone which sounded like clear stream of water from high up the snowy mountains. "Wha'! Pa's here! Guys, pa's here!" cried one of the cubs, peeking his/her head from behind her mother's back. "Oh! If it isn't little miss Milfur! What a beautiful surprise. Ooh! There's Wilfur, Bilfur, Nilfur and even wittle Zelfie is here with mama!" She said in a cute tone as she advances towards mama Ilfur to cuddle the cubs when she finally saw that there was a similarly sized guy sitting on her back and looking at here with wide, shock-filled eyes. That was me. "How… did you know…" I was baffled and shocked at her terrifying identifying abilities with which she was able to distinguish the five balls of furry cuteness with 100% accuracy, I mean I don't know who is who so all I can do is take her word for it but even then! She's kinda awesome! "Oh my…" she says as she hides her wide mouth with her milk-colored hands but when she saw my purple-color eyes and hair and the strange, diamond shaped pupils, her eyes glimmered with interest. "It's a rare sight to see such a beautiful demi-human. My apologies sir, but I'm Valentia, one of the two maids of Master Oddus. It's a pleasure to meet you." She said as she extended her hand. I smile wryly at her and even though I didn't want to shake hands with her, I had to, "Hello, I'm Rubik." I say with caution. "It's a pleasure to meet you again, sir Rubik. Please follow me to Master Oddus. He will be pleased to meet a fellow demi-human." She says. "Is he a demi-human too?" I ask, doubtfully. Valentia shakes her head and replies, "I'm afraid not, sir. But afraid not, sir Rubik, there are still two demi-humans in the town whom you could talk to and even Master Oddus's own little brother is a demi-human. Please be assured that your identity will not be revealed to the humans no matter what." I nod simply without replying much and mama Ilfur intervenes in my defense, "He's new here, sister Valentia. I'm sorry if he seems disrespectful." "New? There's no problem, sister Ilfur." She says coolly before turning back and heading inside. I climb down from mama Ilfur's back and walk side by side to where this 'Master Oddus' was. On the way, I met with the other human maid in the house, who was, like Valentia, a lady of 20s with even bigger assets with pitch-black short hair. Her name was Grace and she took away the cubs while we headed inside but before she went away, she looked at me with glittering eyes. Not long after that, I received two friend requests from the maids of the house. I frowned a little but didn't immediately accepted them. Why? Why wouldn't I accept requests from two beautiful gals, you ask? Its because I'm fucking married and if I accept them then I will 2 female friends compared to 3 males. The ratio is too broken to convince my wife! Or so I try to convince myself. Truth be told, I'm not really good at talking with females. Anyway, moving that fact aside, I along with mama Ilfur arrive at the living room of the house where the 'Master Oddus' was and was promptly shocked when I met him. Towering at nearly 50 meters tall, there was a creature with a long neck, triangular face, two large leathery wings and a huge scaled body sat on its butt while it drank tea with the help of its quite smaller hands. The teacup was very small by the way and in no way the size and dimension of the teacup makes justice to the huge dragon that was drinking from it. Yes, a dragon. The 'Master Oddus' mama Ilfur and Valentia were talking about was none other than a 50-meter-tall dragon with grey scales. Heck! The house where it lived was only twice its size from ground to the tip. But that wasn't all. On the dragon's other side sat an 8 meters tall brown bear with black stripes all over its body. The bear was quite huge and just like the dragon, it was drinking tea from a quite smaller teacup. Guys! You all are goddamn beasts, not humans! Stop drinking tea from human-sized teacups!! Is what I wanted to say but the moment I stepped into the living room; a strange aura washed over me. Now, by normal logic, when one meets a dragon, which is most probably a high-end monster of the game, one would feel a terrifying aura which would act as a debuff but when the aura washed over me, I felt something way different. I felt an intense amount of agitation and fury. Even the system said something crazy. I was pleasantly shocked by the addition of two powerful bloodline abilities but even that couldn't make the disgruntled expression on my face. And just like how I was pretty roughed up by this aura, Master Oddus was also alerted of my presence. The huge dragon turned towards us and was seemed surprised to say the least. "Oh! If it isn't little Ilfur and…" …
