Once there was a boy named Erik. He was a sporty boy and he was in 4th grade. He only had two fears, the first one was clowns and the second was death. He was terrified of clowns. This fear started when he went to the circus in 1st grade. At the circus, he got lost and couldn't find his mom. He asked one of the clowns there to help find her. At first Erik didn't like the outfit the clown was wearing. He thought it was too big and it was ugly. The clown told Erik his name, Jack. Erik weakly forced a smile. All Erik wanted was to find his mom. Jack said he would help and asked Erik to describe his mother. This was hard for the first grader but he did his best. He said his mom had green eyes, blond hair, she was short, and was wearing all black. A lot of women fit this description though. So Jack the clown just took Erik's hand and pulled him to the back room where Jack sexually abused him. Jack told Erik that that was his job to do that and if he didn't he could get fired. Of course Erik and his first grade mind though he was telling the truth and didn't tell anyone. Erik finally found his mom by the bathroom after looking for 10 minutes. This is how Erik has needed a night light for the next 3 years of his life. Erik soon forgot the clowns name and just called him "The man in the costume."
