Not long after Vessel took off running, looking for a monster to kill. He encountered one,
appearing from a shrub between several trees. A very slow moving monster, so slow in fact that
it was barely moving at half the pace when Vessel was walking through the forest. The monster
was the size of an adult's palm, has a huge shell on its back, and has eyes much bigger than
what one might assume compared to its body.
"Oh, so this is the first monster I encountered on the island and it is a classic one."
[Snail Level 1]
HP 15/15
Vessel pulled out a wooden sword by the side of his waist, the one which Cookie and Cream
gave to him to defend himself, when he encountered monsters in the Acorn world. He started
out swinging his sword side to side on the Snail.
-1, -1, -2, -1, -3, Critical damage -5… Until the snail finally died.
+1 exp
"That was simple, I barely even have to move or even dodge attacks." thought Vessel
He went up to pick his loot.
2 acoins, 1 snail shell, 10 arrows were added to his item bag.
"Lets keep this going, I have to catch up to the rest of the pack, I am already soo behind as it is."
Everytime a snail spawns nearby Vessel would run up to it and kill it heading deeper and deeper
into the forest of Seedling Island. Completely unaware he was getting farther and farther away
from the towns on the island. But that did not matter to Vessel at the moment as he was too
engrossed in what he was currently doing, completely forgetting about his surroundings he
continued following the track of the monsters.
After what seems like hours had gone by when he finally came to, awakening from his trance
like state he was already level 2 at 53%. He started adding in his new status points and skill
points.
Player: Vessel
Level: 2
Exp: 18/34
HP: 57 MP: 53
STR: 5 DEX: 5 INT: 5 LUK: 5
Usable Stat points: 5
Hardly even thinking about it Vessel added all 5 points into STR. With the only thing changing in
Advance view on status was his attack range it was now 2-5 damage. He also added his skill
point that he gained for leveling up into Enrage.
Enrage: level 2 +2% attack and magic attack (stackable) MP: 10 Duration: 30s CD: 54s
As Enrage's level was still too low, Vessel didn't bother using the skill as it would just be a waste
of MP. As for the other skills he would rather max one of them by level 10 then spreading out his
skill points. After he was done adding his points that he gained from leveling up, he checked his
items.
"Item bag" said Vessel
Equipment:(New) leather sandals 2 defense
Potions: (New) basic potion x1 (+20hp from drinking it), arrows x158
Misc: none
Monster drop: 30 snail shells
Quest items: none
Acoins: $178
"Oh, new shoes one that actually adds defense time too."
He then took out the new pair of sandals and swapped out the old one. Equipping the sandals
was surprising life like as he actually had to do it manually. As he put away the old pair of
sandals it disappear into the item bag. While the new pair our shoes has wrapped around his
foot perfectly.
As he was going about all of this, Vessel thought to himself "This is too easy, and this shouldn't
be the case at all. The monsters seems to passive. There's got to be more to this otherwise the
game wouldn't be living up to its own standards at all."
A snail spawned by a nearby tree and Vessel looked at it. "Look at it, it is so small that it can fit
on the palm of my hands." thought Vessel. He went up to it unconsciously, he stretched out his
hand grabbed it by its shell placing it on his palms. Suddenly!
-1, -1 damage, crit dmg -3.
"AH!" cried Vessel as he felt as though he's gotten a few paper cuts. He immediately threw the
snail against a tree next to him.
Critical damage -6
Staring blankly at the snail that was slowly coming back at him. "Huh!" said Vessel out loud
"I can do that?! I can actually touch the monster physically and interact with them!" thought
Vessel. After finishing off the snail. Vessel knew he's got to experiment more in order to figure
out the true way of playing this game.
Vessel started heading to the next snail that he saw. He, instead of using his sword, he started
punching and kicking the snail while the damage to it was negligible, he did discover that it too
affect the snail's movement while receiving a small amount of damage on himself. Heading on
to the next snail he climbed up a tree using a branch as a springboard he launched himself and
did damage that even surprised himself.
-10 damage!
His damage went beyond his so called attack ranged. He thought it must have been due to the
assisted effect of gravity when he jumped off the tree while swinging the sword at the snail.
Originally Vessel thought that the damage might have been all random between his attack
range. That might not have been the case at all.
Vessel started poking more snails with his wooden sword multiple times in order to check. He
discovered that while attacking some places the damage is random, certain places like its shell
has far higher def, resulting him in dealing only 2 damage each time. At times the snails curl up
back into its shells resulting in Vessel killing it much slower, he discovered he could pick up its
shell without taking any damage, and taking his wooden sword he stabbed inside the shell
discovering its surprising weakness, as it did 5 damage each hit without question effectively
killing it off in 3 hits.
A few more mechanics were discovered during this experimentation as well. Since before he
has basically taken no damage. He discovered that he heals 10hp and 3mp every 10 seconds
when he isn't in battle. Certain limitations also no longer apply from the real world, he could
finally perform movements and actions he never would have been able to in real life. Actions
that usually only a stunt man would perform because if it was done by an amateur they risk
serious injuries onto themselves then they will be out of work and out of money in certain cases.
"So this is how the game is meant to be played."
After experimenting for so long he realized it had already been 12 hours. Not only that he has
level up to level 3 at 97% only 3% away from his next level! He quickly added his status points
again, all into STR and skill points into the skill Enrage to 15 and 3 respectively.
Suddenly the sky turned dark. Everything became black and white. Sounds started slowly
disappearing until nothing could be heard at all. In a far off distance, very, very far off a dark and
purplish beam of light erupted from the ground up. As the beam of light started to expand
outwards it pierced through the clouds into space. The ground all around Vessel and maybe
even the world started shaking, as if it is in fear.
"Huh, what?" thought Vessel
[Warning][Warning][Warning][Warni...]
[World Message: [XXX]: I [XXX] the one you called the Black Mage have Return!]
Crys could be heard from everywhere. Panic could be seen all over the Acorn world. Shock and
fear that hasn't been seen for centuries has returned.
[System Message: All players will be logged out in 5mins. As 95% of all players have logged in
and played for at least a total of 4 hours each. The system and servers will be undergoing
maintenance for several hours to accommodate more players. As the Black mage has returned,
monsters from all around the acorn world will start acting more aggressive, with some even
turning demonic.]
"It is already late at night, I might as well log out." thought Vessel
"Log Out"
In a small pitch black apartment room with no lights on, and so quiet that one can even hear the
dripping sound of water coming from the kitchen sink. The place was simply a mess looking as
though no one has taken care of this place in months.
In a large mechanical capsule, mechanical sounds started turning and the sound of gas being
released was heard the capsule opened. Revealing the short black hair chubby man called Erin
L.
Erin turned on the lights in his small apartment room, and as he was strolling through the mess
on the floor, he reached the apartment balcony. Staring at the late night moon, he started talking
to himself.
"That was fun." It was something he hasn't said in over a decade
