The four friends plan to see the first sunrise. Hence, after celebrated New Year count down, they take a train to Fulong Beach. While letting his shoulder becomes a support of Xiao Ping's head, Yu Jin once again rubs his left cheek. The warmth of Xiao Ping's lips still linger there. He hates the mixture feeling he has now. He can't be sad or angry about the kiss because it was so sweet and given by someone he loves so much. But he surely can't be happy about it, knowing that the kiss meant nothing more than a friendly gesture. He turns his head slightly to the kisser who is now soundly asleep next to him. She is comfort enough being close to him that throws her head on his shoulder.. no.. now is on his chest. This kind of trust that makes Yu Jin strongly constraints him self to not confess his feeling. He knows his position and he doesn't want to break the trust.
"Bro," Han Han whispers to call Yu Jin. The latter turns his head to the guy who sits in front of him. "Can I ask you a favor ?" Han Han hisses. Yu Jin raises his eyebrows. "Hmm.. when we reach the beach, can you take Xiao Ping to separate from us ?" he request in whisper. "I'm.. I'm going to ask her to officially date me," he continues with a much lower voice while glancing at A Lin who sleeps in his embrace. "That's great !" Yu Jin hisses in excitement. "So.. would you help me ?" Han Han asks. "Surely, lil bro," Yu Jin answers then widely smiles.

When they arrive at the Fulong station it is 3.30 AM. They decide to watch the drum party and have some street food before going to the beach. Since there are so many people also going to the beach to witness the first sunrise, it is easier for Yu Jin to separate themselves from Han Han and A Lin. Xiao Ping is definitely worry at first, but Yu Jin calms her down, saying that they will definitely find them eventually.
Once Yu Jin and Xiao Ping reach the beach, they both take off their shoes and rolls their pants. Al though they don't intend to play water but it's better to be precautions. It is definitely not comfortable wearing wet pants in a cold day. The sky is still dark, but not the beach since there are so many lights around. Yu Jin found and empty bench and takes Xiao Ping sits there.
"I hope we will find them," Xiao Ping says after drinking her water, still concerns about Han Han and A Lin that suddenly missing. "They'll be fine," Yu Jin responds to her. "Aren't you jealous ?" Xiao Ping suddenly asks. "What.. ?" Yu Jin lost his mind for a second. "To Han Han," Xiao Ping explains. "What.. ? Nooo" Yu Jin immediately refuses her thought. Xiao Ping smacks her lips. "I thought you like A Lin," she says. Yu Jin widens his eyes in surprised. She still doesn't realize his feeling, after all he's done. Yu Jin doesn't know whether he should laugh or cry about it. He finally just smiles.
"How are you guys doing ? Did he know you're spending new year with me ?" Yu Jin brings his torturing yet favorite topic. "Of course I told him. No lie," she answers, moving her legs back and forth playfully. "We are fine. I think he is in rough time, though he doesn't want to tell me what exactly it is," Xiao Ping turns to Yu Jin, "Is that what all guys do ? You won't tell your problem unless you can get help from it ?" Yu Jin frowns to recall his own experience. "Yeah.. we do," he admits then smiles to see Xiao Ping furrowed eye brows. "Telling our problem is like admitting our weakness. We won't do it unless we know the person can help us. Even less with ones we love. Simply because we don't want to make them worry," Yu Jin explains. Xiao Ping nods repeatedly. "I see. That's also what he said, he didn't want it to be my burden," she says. They then welcome silence to sit between them, talking with their own minds while staring at the sky.
"Hey.. the sun is coming out," Yu Jin tells her while pointing out at the horizon. There is a fine red line that breaks the black sky. Soon, the line is getting wider and wider then turns into orange. A tip of sun's shape appears on the horizon.
"So pretty," Xiao Ping murmurs in amazed. Yu Jin looks at her orange face as it is hit by the sun ray. "Yes. very pretty," he whispers. "It is, isn't it ?" Xiao Ping turns to him, almost catches his stare if only Yu Jin a second too late to turn his gaze back to the horizon. Yu Jin nods, not daring to facing her.
"Did you know, they said that a couple that see a sunrise together will be together forever," Xiao Ping.tells him a myth she got from Takeshi. "Too bad we aren't a couple," she adds randomly, once again makes Yu Jin startled. Xiao Ping is admiring the sunrise when suddenly she feels a warm kiss on her cheek.
