For the first time in my life, seeing someone sad made me feel bad. Maybe because I was the reason, but who cares or may be who cares? Right now, I do, I do care. Call me crazy but mind is doing cartwheels band making me crazy.
I run to her. "Wait!!"
She slows down and waits for me to catch up.
"hey....um..Wait. It's really late and you shouldn't go alone"
"I can manage sword, its fine. You should go get some rest" she says calmly.
She is too quite to be calm. I am most used to women shouting and crying at me howling like anything but this was really unbearable.
She walks away before I can answer.
Why is she so impossible? I can't let her go like this; something in the back of my mind wants me to go and get her. I back hug her, not letting a single chance to move, resting my chin on her shoulders. Her held jolts up. she smells like Ylang Ylang and Iris. It is so intoxicating, so relaxing. I nuzzle a little deeper.
"sw.....sword" he voice quivers.
Shit what the hell am I thinking? She is no pillow.
"let me walk you home Lynn" I whisper.
she gives a little nod.
We walk side my side. She isn't her usual chirpy self. She was more composed and careful. I didn't ask her much she didn't say any. In those occasional street lights I could see her beautiful silhouette.
"That's my home" she exclaimed. She didn't sound excited at all.
She looks at me for the first time "good night sword. Have sweet dreams." She smiles genuinely.
If anything was the most beautiful thing at this moment it would be her, her bright eyes and fluffy cheeks. Long falling hair and those cinnamon coloured lips. She was like a prettiest sculpture. She was cute and chubby and somehow it made her the prettiest.
I want to protect her, even if she is a danger. I plant a kiss on her forehead "good night miss Lynn"
She touches the kiss absentmindedly and her cheeks turn pink. So predictable. She waves a goodbye and leaves. Ever heard of how curiosity killed a cat? Well the same goes here. I walk closer to her home and find a blind spot. There are many unusual flowers in the lawn and a long wooden bush.
"I am home" she announces her entry.
"what took you so long Lynn? Where in the universe have you been? whom were you going around with?" a lady half shouts half asks her.
What? How can she show she have been with me?
"no where mom. I was in the library and then I went to the CENTRAL to buy a few references." She said calmly.
"do you have any idea how irresponsible you are Lynn? You have your college exams coming and all you do is to waste every minute. Do you even know how much we have invested on everything?" her shouting never stops.
"I know, and I am trying" she sighs and retreats to her room.
" you better not take too long Lynn" she calls for her again.
The room above illuminates and slowly she draws the blinds of the window. The gentle breeze sways some strands of her hair off her face. I feel like seeing something unreal, beautifully unreal. Her eyes are tired and sad and her face lost some of its glow. She breaths deeply and sighs. And while looking at the blank sky she ties her loose open hair into a high bun with a few strands falling stray.
