A friendly voice snapped him out of his thoughts It was Ken sitting in the desk in front of Dan's.
"God! Where have you been lost? See, I'm right here in front of you," said Ken.
"Um... nothing in particular. Leave it. It's good to have you back again," said Dan.
"You are Ken right. Nice to see you," said Sarah extending out her hand.
"Same here Sarah," said Ken shaking hands with her.
Sarah, Ken and Dan talked for a long time about their interests and favorites so as to know each other better. From the conversation they exchanged both Ken and Dan undersrood that basically Sarah was a very ambitious and tough person. Her dignity was very important to her and no one could escape her wrath by insulting her. They also realized that even though Sarah socialized with almost everyone in the class she did not particularly considered anyone to be that important to her because when she was asked about her best friend or a very good friend she said she had none.
During the lunch period Sarah went away to sit with her other friends. At that time Ken turned around to face Dan. Ken was grinning from ear to ear just like the Chesire cat of Lewis Carol's 'Alice in Wonderland'.
"How are you feeling 'Danny' sitting with your dream girl?"
"Oh shut up," remarked Dan.
"Why? You always keep staring at her and now she will be right beside you. This is a golden opportunity for you to know her. Well, I find her interesting so if you are not interested then tell me. I will try to be with her then," said Ken with a sly smile.
"Can't you just... Oh my gosh!"
The thing that cut off Dan was a commotion going on in their class.
"What's going on?"- asked Ken.
"Can't say until we get there." Saying so Dan pushed his way past the crowd to the centre of the commotion.
When the two of them reached there they saw Sarah and Melly fighting.
"Hold on. Melly is Sarah's friend right? Why are they fighting?"- asked Dan.
"Beats me," continued Ken, "Maybe we should ask Sarah after this is over."
Dan could notice Sarah trying hard to fight back tears while showing her brave front to Melly and the others.
"Who the hell do you think you are? You have always done this to others. You have no right to play with others and their feelings. Always showing yourself as a nice girl aren't you? You are nothing but a traitor. Sooner or later everyone will come to know that," shouted Melly. Sarah said nothing and instead walked up to Melly, drew back her hand and knocked her down with a single blow and said,"You are nothing but a piece of crap." Then she stormed out of the room.
