Same day, 4:36pm
I wake up, my hair messed up, my eyes weak as ever, also my body. I stood up, stretched and went exited my bedroom.
I go to the living room to see Iane on the couch reading a book.
"Hey," he said, "Good morning."
"Mhm." in a low voice, I said.
I lay down next to him, my head on his lap, my body laying on the couch.
Iane gently brushes my hair with his right hand while his left is holding a book... I took a peek at it's cover, it's named "What if it's-"
He quickly closes the book and throws it behind the couch.
My face was confused, but both of us laughed.
"What were you reading?" I asked.
"Some old book I saw at the closet."
"Mhm." I nod.
Then there was silent.
I suddenly ask. "How much do you know Kent?"
"Hmm, probably about 90% I guess?"
"How so?" I ask
"Well, for example, I know for a fact that you two first dated at a French restaurant in town and you wanted to try those raw snails, so you ordered them then you-" I placed my finger on Iane' mouth, which cuts him off.
"Nuff said." I said.
Both of us laughed.
Then I asked.
"Do you know if Kent and Chloe are meeting up?"
He was silent.
"Why are you asking me?" He counters my question.
"Because you just said you know him 90%." I said.
He was silent again.
"Iane?" I ask.
"Honestly," Iane paused. "I don't know."
I stare at him.
"Seriously, I don't fucking know! I swear!" he does a cross on his chest, as if he's honest about what he said.
I nod.
...
"May I ask why you were wondering about that?" Iane asks.
"... I saw a missed call from Chloe on Kent's phone." I answered honestly.
"Oh." He looks at me, then at the wall.
Silence.
"It's probably just nothing in particular. I've never seen them together before.... So."
I feel relieved.
"Who knows." He says, as he strokes my hair.
Wait.
Where is Kent?
It's almost 5pm and he's still isn't here.
"Wait, where are they?" I ask.
"They said they were gonna smoke for a while somewhere out there."
What.
Iane realizes what he'd said.
"He smokes?! Where are they know? When did they leave?" I asked, panicking.
"Probably about 2 hours ago-"
I quickly stood up, grabbed my phone and started calling Kent.
Ringing...
No pick up.
I called again.
Ringing...
Still nothing.
Iane stood up next to me.
"Don't worry, they're probably just there somewhere smoking by the beach or whatever." he says, "give him some time, I mean, you guys just fought so..."
He was right.
I layed back down on the couch, Iane sits right next to me.
"Just give him some time, okay?" He says as he rubs my back.
"okay."
