The knife eyed emperor continued to stare at Suki. She felt her heart beating faster and faster. Why wasn't he speaking? Was he just going to sit there staring into her soul? Her panic grew and she began to tremble slightly.
"You have strange eyes" the voice came out and broke the frozen silence that had terrified Suki captured. She did not speak a word she still stood silent. again there was a silence.
the Emperor suddenly stood. "you have brought me a good one this time Clyde" he said as he slowly approached Suki. trying to evert his gaze she looked down and to the side. she was angry but scared. she wanted to scream and run but her hands were tied and her mouth was still gaged.
The young emperor reached out and gently grabbed a lock of Suki's black hair. flinching she closed her eyes and trembled.
"Are you afraid of me?" the emperor smiled as leaning to look her in the eyes. Suki shook her head slowly. The emperor laughed "No" he said.
Is he messing with me? Suki thought. He has such a cold look in his eyes and yet he's laughing? The thought of that terrified Suki even more.
"Hmm. Well I think I'll keep you until I'm bored." He said, breaking Suki from her thoughts.
Until he's bored? She thought. The emperor waved his hand and turned around walking back to his throne.
Then the soldiers beside Suki took her by the arms again and began dragged her out of the throne room. Right before they exited the room Suki looked behind her back at the emperor. He was sitting on the throne with the most cold and evil look in his eyes.
What wha the gain in imprisoning her? She thought as she jerked her head back forward. She longed to be back with her father in the hot sun living life with him. She wished they had stayed in her home town to live forever. But that dream was over. That hope was gone.
He soldiers took Suki to a large room and threw her in. "Seems the emperor was in a good mood today. You are lucky to be alive. See if you can keep it that way, I don't want to go shopping for another toy." The baron sighed. He had been quiet up until now. His words were so cold and without any care.
Then the soldiers took off Suki's gag and untied her hands. With a hand wave from the baron all three men left the room and locked the door leaving Suki alone.
She looked around at her surroundings. The room she was in quite resembled a bird cage. It had a large bed on one end and a huge pool like tub on the other. It was like a queens room except for the fact that it was a cage.
Am I simply his pet? She thought. She walked over to the bed rubbing her wrists sore from the ties. She tiredly flopped down on the bed and closed her heavy eyes. What had her life come to . At he beginning of the day she had been a happy girl moving to the city with her father. Now what was she? A slave in a bird cage? Was this the end? Was this what her life was to be?
