Chapter 4 - The Doctor's Friend : 2

CLINIC:: Ankit's POV

It was then I saw the young man sitting casually in the opposite chair and reading some random magazine.

As our eyes met, he smiled.

Hey. He waved.

Heyya.

Wait . What!!!! Did I actually wave back? Strange. Don't I hate socializing unless I am working?

Suraj in there?

The guy pointed his thumb to the Emergency.

Suraj?

Yeah. Dr. Suraj. The cute, hot sexy guy.

Oh. Yeah. That one. I guess so. One young doc is stitching my colleague's chin. Kinda fits your description. Not sure on the hot and sexy part, but cute..... Well, yeah I guess so.

Oh my God!!!

Did I just comment lucidly on a doctor in front of a stranger !!!

Jesus!!!

What's happening?

My expression must have given out something. The man er boy er guy.... whatever, started laughing.

A warm, hearty and mischievous laughter.

Ah!!! Reserved and shy.

Are we?

I felt my head nodding.

Shit.... Shit.

Hmmmm. So what happened Ankit?

I realized my name tag was sitting gloriously on my chest. Smart guy. The way he made my name sound, it sounded like an old friend. Warm and hearty.

Er... Not much. My Ma'm, I mean senior colleague fainted and smashed her chin badly. Dr. Suraj is stitching her chin right now. Let's see if there's more damage than just the eyes meet.

You guys from THE CAFE down the lane, right?

I nodded.

Ouch.

Which chica got herself smashed? Beautiful ladies you have as your colleagues bro. I hate to picture any one of them with a stitched chin.

He puckered his lips.

It was cute and awesome.

I felt a smile building up at the corner of my lips. It was so easy talking to him.

Then take the hit bro.

The most beautiful one.

Radha Madam.

The guy clenched his heart and made a fake gesture.

Noooooooooooooo.

I lost control and rolled off laughing.

This man was amazing.

I still didn't get your name, Sir.

My interest about this man was rising.

Oh that.

Madhav.

He stretched his hand.

As I stretched my hand to return the gesture, the Emergency door opened and Tanya stepped out balancing a feeble Radha Ma'm on her right shoulder.

A nurse was supporting Madam from the back.

She looked miserable.

Feeble. Drained. And drenched in blood.

I felt my nausea returning.

Doctor Suraj stepped out.

Bro with heaomophobia, don't you dare close the gap. I am not interested to treat you too. You look nasty. Shoooo...

Ah Madhav. Epic timing. Can you help Radha here? She will need a ride back. Care to help?

Radha Madam stayed nearby, at some twenty minutes walking distance. She was weak but I highly doubted if she would allow a stranger to help. She is a woman is self respect and epitome of independence.

It was definitely nice of this Suraj guy to suggest help , but , what are we? Doormats? I could feel my rage rising but suddenly a thought came, was he trying to set them up? If so, well GOOD LUCK.

As expected, Mam looked up and started protesting moving her ghoulishly white and thin hands but Madhav was already beside her, stretching his hand and offering Tanya relief.

But suddenly my equations started getting wrong.I saw Mam's eyes widening and the protesting hand dropping.

She mouthed something but it was impossible to understand.

Don't worry. Madhav is good company. He owns this place and is a successful businessman. A gentleman through and through. Lucky to get easy help. Radha will be in safe hands.

The assurance was directed to Tanya, who was looking at Madhav with a frown.

As Tanya pulled out the Credit Card, Madhav cut in, taking us by shock.

May I?

I believe Radha here won't object?

Trust me, I owe her.

Tanya just opened her mouth to protest but Radha Ma'm gestured an Okay.

Keep the bill ready, I will swap it on my way back. And Simmi, get me the meds from Pappu bhai please. Don't forget the prescription.

The receptionist nodded.

What is this guy? My mind was racing. I couldn't remember seeing him in THE CAFE. But Madam definitely knew him. Why else would a rigid ,self respectful character like her give a green to him for paying her medical bill?

And what did he mean by owing Ma'm?

And how come he was there bang on time to take charge?

SOMETHING WAS NOT ADDING UP.

DEFINITELY NOT ADDING UP.

What am I missing?

Tanya was also looking at them suspiciously. But she remained silent.

I believe someone need to fetch her bag. The keys to her apartment---- but Tanya was cut short by Madhav.

She is not climbing all those stairs in this situation. I am taking her with me and no need to rush to THE CAFE, I am picking her bag up.

Me and Radha has history.

Don't worry.

He was stretching out a card.

I took it.

The second address. That's the home. Please visit on your way back.

Tanya was again trying to say something but this time a stern gesture from Radha Ma'm shut her up.

Did he just say history?

Right at this point, Tanya leaned in to whisper, Radha-Madhav.... Of course they have history....

She giggled and winked.

I looked at them as he helped her climb in the front seat of his Jaguar and fastened her seat belt with great love and care.

Everything seemed so unrealistic and out of the world. Real? Or a dream?

An one Crore plus Jaguar!!!

Well yeah, I know Jaguar is nothing big, but for a guy like me, it's a big thing.... well verrrry big thing.

Tanya's push brought me back to reality.

Madhav had taken the wheel and was gesturing us to get in.

THIS GUY MUST BE RICH. AND CRAZY. Else who would drive an exotic car like this without a driver!!! I still couldn't believe I was sitting in a Jaguar XJ L!!!!

But alas, we reached The Cafe even before I could blink properly.

I got down unwillingly and hurried back to my position.

The clock was touching 13:00 hours. The rush hours were back.

I saw Survi Madam nodding and talking as she handed over the purse and the Lunch Dabba to Radha Ma'm.

As the Jaguar left I heard collective Ohs and Ahs.... customers and colleagues alike. Don't know whether on the car or the owner, but I guess both were equally attractive.

Some guys and their luck !!!!

Hell.

The clock ticked and the day progressed but my mind refused to stop thinking about Madhav.

WHO IS THIS GUY?

WHAT'S HIS LINK TO MA'M?

WHAT AM I MISSING?
