Alexei's fever was getting worse.. I needed to take him to the hospital.
I asked for Jose Manuel's help to talk to the captain so we could stop at the nearest port and with his influence, captain agreed.
We had several options.. The nearest and quickest route would be 2 days from now in Scotland.
It was a relief and I instructed Amelie to prepare our belongings for our departure.
" Is Jose Manuel coming with us?" She asked.
" He wanted to but I persuaded him not to.. I told him that it would upset his mother but I would meet him in London so we could finally spend time alone.. Just him and I" I answered.
" But you're not planning to meet with him again.. Am I correct? Amelie continued.
" I haven't thought about it yet.. I could use him because he knows the important people and he has an access to all the social events because of his wealth.. Everyone wanted to be near him or should I say near his money.. And by that time, he would surely know that his mother was missing.. " I explained.
We were busy discussing when there was a sudden knock on the door.. My guard told me that a gentleman named Karl Luxem wanted to speak with me.
I immediately told the guard to dismiss the gentleman and tell him that I am not to be disturbed by anyone as ordered.
The guard came back after several minutes..
" The gentleman insisted you speak with him because he would like to discuss with you a thing or two about the Countess of Bravada.. or he would discuss it with the ship's Captain." He explained..
My world stopped.. I was in a state of panick with several thoughts inside my head..
I took a deep breath and gathered my emotions.
" Let him in.." I said.
