Chapter 17 - Chapter 16: Root Chakra- A blessing or a curse??

"Kiel what happened? What was that sound??

"Nothing mamma. Just fell down."

Hearing his mother, Kiel replied her to not worry her any further.

When he knocked his head, Kiel didn't fall down, neither did he feel any pain. It was strange for him. But, after all the things that he suffered in the past few days, he didn't feel much surprise. He even had a hunch about it, which he wanted to assay some more.

Kiel really wanted to find out what was really happening to him. These two days have been way too hectic for him. And he couldn't concentrate on anything at all.

He had only opened his Root chakra and so much has happened. Kiel was really looking forward to opening the other chakras. He even dreamt about the day when he opened his Crown chakra; and how he would stand at the top of everyone else. But this dream was short lived as he didn't know anything much about this world.

Derek was busy eating as he had to go to his workshop early. The twins were also eating quietly by the side, as they didn't talk much in the presence of their father.

Although they were still young, they had realized that their father didn't like them much; though he didn't behave coldly with them, he never showed them any warmth also. So they didn't interact much with him.

And Agatha was busy serving them. She brought dishes out of the kitchen and placed them one by one at the table. They were having meat stew and two other vegetable dishes, with some coarse brown board as breakfast. The meat was from some local sheep and had a very tender texture. It was chewy and had a distinct flavour to it, making the stew even more appetizing. It was one of Agatha's signature dishes and also one of Kiel's favourite dishes in this world.

Kiel came to the dinner table and sat down on a chair beside Amber and began eating quietly what was there on his plate. He didn't even notice his favourite dishes at the table as his mind was still full of chakra and stuff.

Although Agatha didn't observe him particularly, she could still see him blacking out. Previously, whenever they had meat stews, Kiel would be very enthusiastic. But now he didn't even look at it properly.

"Baby what's wrong"

Agatha asked Kiel. But she got no reply.

"Baby!!"

"Oh momma??" Kiel looked confused being called like this and feeling all eyes on him.

"What's wrong?? You have been blacking out too much recently!"

Even though he felt her worry, he couldn't tell her about his training issues. He could only give her an excuse.

"Nothing momma. Just feeling a little exhausted."

This time it was Derek that replied.

"Eat up and go rest. You are still weak. Don't fool around so much."

"Yes papa"

Derek finished his meal first and then went to his workshop.

"I'm going! Will be back by evening.'

'Be safe honey!"

After greeting Derek, Agatha sat in his place and started her meal. It was the custom of their village- Women could only eat after their husbands Agatha had to follow it too. Although Kiel didn't like it, he could do nothing about it too. At Least not now.

After eating his fill, Kiel was about to get up, but he suddenly sat down again and pinched Amber's thigh slightly under the table, who was quietly eating her breakfast. Being pinched suddenly made her panic and when she saw it was her little brother, she grew flustered. So to hide her embarrassment, she glared at him.

"Kiel…"

He then ran away amusedly, only to listen to the gigges of Fawn and Agatha, while Amber continued to glare at him.

Kiel knew that his sisters feared his father. Although they didn't talk about it, he could infer from their looks that they were afraid of him. Kiel knew something must have happened before. But he just couldn't ask his sisters. He had also observed Hazel's cold look towards Derek, and her wish to show him her worth. He could only guess.

Kiel couldn't do anything about Hazel now. But he swore to protect his sisters and mother with his everything. So he would liven the atmosphere or amuse his sisters whenever he could.

After returning to his room, Kiel dropped down on his bed. Although he was very curious about the changes in his body, as a ex-scientist, he knew too much haste would only ruin things. Even l his tiny body and mind couldn't handle so much stress. After all he was just a two years old child.

He was just too exhausted by the events that occurred during the few days. So he just fell down on his bed and continued sleeping for the whole day. He woke up in the evening, then ate his dinner and continued to rest.

This was his routine for the next few days. He didn't try to focus on enhancing his mind, nor did he try to peer into the mystic Root Chakra inside him. He didn't even energize his body with life energy. No morning training or night meditation. All he did was rest and relax. Sometimes he would spend time playing with his sisters. And other times he would sleep on his mother's lap, while she slowly stroked his hair. He also started learning the basic runes.

Basic runes were like the letters and alphabets from his previous worlds. A combination of various runes were called indicia (aka words). From what his mother told him, Kiel understood that various languages had their own runes. There were even intermediate and advanced runes. Basic runes were used as language constructs and by commoners. Whereas, higher level runes were used by Mages.

Agatha also told him that there were even more mysterious symbols called Glyphs, but she had no idea about them. Kiel even asked her about mages, but she just told him that he was too small. When he becomes 3 years old, she would tell him everything. At that age, he could start his training, or could also go to his father's workshop and learn blacksmithing.

She even added that she shouldn't have taught him runes now too. Only at the age of three, education and cultivation starts. The first three years are for having fun. Then she started to scold him how he doesn't behave like his age, and he should just play around like little kids and not always stay cooped up in his room. Kiel could only nod silently while Agatha berate him.

Spending his days resting, he did notice one thing in his body. Previously he would have to actively use breathing exercises regularly to generate life energy, which would then dissipate if he didn't focus. But now, although he just rested and relaxed, he could still slowly feel an energy fill energy in his body. He even felt like his body's balance increasing day by day.

Once he and his sisters were playing a game similar to hopscotch, and he had to stand one one foot for 2 minutes straight like that. But even then, he didn't feel like falling at all. It was quite strange as before he could only stay one legged for no more than 10-20 breaths.

Another time, he was hoping with his sisters in their backyard. And he felt very natural with one leg even while running. After some more similar experiences, Kiel could feel his body's balance had greatly increased. Although Kiel couldn't feel the red hue on him again, he could feel his body being strengthened the last time. Now he would not get hurt much when playing, and his stamina had also increased.

(A/N: Hopscotch is a popular playground game in which players toss a small object into numbered triangles or a pattern of rectangles outlined on the ground and then hop or jump through the spaces to retrieve the object.)

A month passed away as Kiel focused on being a child. He was an adult by heart. So being a child was straining for him. But he still enjoyed the time with his family so he didn't mind it much. After a month of doing nothing, he now felt very relaxed and had also come out of his trauma of the previous session of training.

Today he wanted to restart his halted training. After a month of complete rest, he had overcome his trauma and now he wanted to test some of the speculations he had come up with.

It was still early morning. He woke up at his usual time. Sitting cross legged, he closed his eyes and started to vitalize his body. His energy control now had become way better than his previous self. He could better focus his mind and even control his lifeforce without relying much on his blood channels.

His body started to fill up with energy. Every one of his cells of started working in harmony to produce a rich sticky energy or aid in the process.

'Just as I thought. This energy is the A.T.P from my previous life. But at a much higher level.'

As the process continued and the sticky fluid like feeling started covering his body, Kiel readied his mind. He knew when the viscous life energy neared his lower spine, the real experiment would begin.

And he was right! Just a moment later, Kiel felt a deep suction force inside his body. But this time he didn't panic as he was ready. Like last time he felt the suction force taking almost all his life energy, then a maroon glow covering his whole body. The feeling of heaviness and the similar sensations appeared again.

But he didn't give them much importance. He had a different goal today. He controlled his life energy to slowly enter the red chakra core. He knew this was the best moment for seeing what was inside. If he let his lifeforce enter the red core when it was idle, it would absorb all his energy. Only when it was giving out energy, he had a chance to sense the inside.

His life force was like a highly sensitive sense receptor. Whatever it touched, he could get a clear picture of it in his head. It was like he had an all encompassing hand. What it touched, Kiel could feel it even better than his own skin, an even more intense sensation. But the only downside was it only worked inside his body. It wouldn't leave his body.

When his lifeforce, entered inside his root core, he felt like he entered a vast new world. The world seemed so real yet felt like it doesn't exist at all. A world full of redness. An enormous pressure shrouded the entire world. His life force also felt a little like being squished. But there was the gentle red glow which gave him the strength to protect himself. As he continued towards the glow, he felt something.

'A bud??' he mused.

As his life force neared the bud, he felt a resonance deep within himself. Kiel could not get a clear picture inside his head due to all the vibrations. But he still visualize a hazy picture of it. What he conceived was an enormous beautiful red floweret with four glowing gigantic petals. One of it's petals had opened a little, but the rest were still closed. The floweret also seemed to be rotating constantly. It looked so majestic, yet it still gave him a sense of security.

As he wished to see more, he suddenly felt a suction, and his life force vanished in the chakra.

Opening his eyes he saw his little body has now regained it's normal pale colour, but with a bit of a rosy glow.

Kiel was even more confused. How could his little body have such a majestic world inside him?? It was not scientific at all.

In his previous life he had tried many times to open his chakras. But all he could feel was a little warmth in his body with even 20 years of practice. And opening a chakra … huh, he could only dream about it. All the information that floated around everywhere were only more misleading. They only associated chakra with emotions. It was all bulls**t , nothing like the experience he felt just now.

Kiel suddenly had an anticipation to the future after what happened today.

***

Days passed on. Spring came and then autumn passed. A cold chilling winter then graced it's arrival.

Kiel continued his daily training on mornings, and meditations at night. Everytime when his body filled itself with energy, his Root Chakra would activate automatically. Then gentle soothing rays would envelope him as he could feel himself being strengthened little by little. At night, he would try to prolong the duration of his Tranquil State through meditation. After each meditation, he could feel his memory capacity increase slightly.

Kiel now memorized almost 90-100 rune symbols. He had also started forming indicias with hs mother's help. Agatha was so proud of him that she could never stop herself from praising him in front of other wives, which only earned her even more envy.

Kiel didn't like to hide his talents. If he showed more talents, he would get better opportunities. So he had no problem with it.

As Agatha was way too happy these days, Kiel would ask her more questions these days and she would still answer him. He now knew a lot more; like their Ratri village was in the Midnight Province which was a part of the Areneu Kingdom. Although they didn't have much information about the places, Kiel still heard many pieces of information.

Derek was a well known blacksmith in the surrounding villages and hence he knew a lot more about the neighbouring areas. Kiel now would spend time learning about his father's work as he would be going there from the nest year. Although he was not allowed their until he became three, Kiel would often visualize himself in a smithy hammering his own sword of imaginary materials.

'Hehe…'

He would also spend a lot of time with his twin sisters, most of the time playing house with them. It was their favorite. And Kiel always liked to play the husband with Fawn and Amber as his wives.

Although both were seven now, Fawn was still too innocent and Amber had a more bashful personality unlike Hazel's coldness. They also liked to spend time with their brother as he would always take care of them. Whenever there was some delicious sweets baked in the house, or when Derek would bring Kiel some candies, he would always remember to give them a half of his share, which would make them way too happy.

So even if they were confused as to why he would like to play their husband's role, they would still allow him to do as he wished.

Kiel even taught them to call him "Darling" while at it.

It sounded so sweet when the two little girls would call him Darling, one with a bashful red face, and another with a cute innocent face. Kiel felt like, he should just keep them inside his pocket.

Agatha would often catch them playing this game and would scold them for playing such games. But Kiel would take her words in from one ear and remove them from the other.

But what was most surprising was Kiel discovered one more if his abilities. While he was playing with the twins in on a slide, Kiel once tried to walk up the slider. And it was incomparably easy even when he was just a kid. He even found he could balance on narrow spaces very easily.

Kiel added all these to his hopping on one foot ability, as he called it, he found that his balance had increased greatly!!

He knew he had another ability too like telekinesis. But it required way too much energy and always made him over exhausted. So he still didn't get to examine it properly.

(Author's note: Well that sums up the world building. From the next chapter, the main story arc will begin!!)
