Chapter 14 - Skip A Grade

Thirsday. Two weeks and a few days have passed since school started.

Ash had unlocked 47 meridians already and he could already jump 3 meters high with ease. He could rival bodybuilders with his strenght and his cognitive abilities increased exponentially.

On the other hand, the harsh training he went trough every second day started to slowly shape his body.

One week ago Ash's and Bai Ling's families met for the first time and in the end of the dinner, Hyder and Jasmine left reluctantly.

For Ling's surprise, both of Ash's parents seemed just ordinary. That is, if she ignored the fact that both of them looked like models.

One had a tech store and the other, a flower shop. Both lived happily in a two story house and were planning to have another kid as they were just slightly over 30 y.o.

According to her father, Bai Cheng, Hyder and Jasmine had no future as cultivators. The reason behind it, the older you began to cultivate, the harder cultivation would be.

At their age it was now impossible to even dream of cultivating.

Thus, most families in the upper world made their children cultivate from age 10 to 16 maximum.

Monday, the next day after the meeting, both Ash and Bai Ling were busy doing all kinds of tests at school, so they could skip a grade, and finally after a week they go their results.

Both were positive... with full marks on every subject.

This meant that today, they were being allocated to a new class.

"Silence!" the teacher yelled "Today we have two new additions to our class. And, for your surprise they just skipped 8th grade!"

Shock! The classroom suddenly became noisy as the students started discussing among eachother about the two 'geniouses' infront of them.

This led to the teacher needing to silence them again.

"You can introduce yourselves now."he said to the two beside him after silence was restored.

"Ash." said Ash with a cold expression.

"Bai Ling, nice to meet you..." on the other hand Ling was cheerful and energetic as she introduced herself.

The students thought that Ash was misterious and unapproachable, while Bai Ling was a total beauty and a sweetheart.

After the introduction, Ash and Bai Ling sat on two empty seats on the desk in the last row.

Ash started sleeping immediately due to his cultivation till 4am last night, he would start studying again tomorrow.

Bai Ling was a bit bored so she started drawing him while he was asleep.

"Did they realy skip a grade?" Thought the students as some glanced toward their new classmates.

How did they skip a year with this attitude towards class? They suddenly got a bit jealous.

If only they could skip years while sleeping in ckass...

After class ended everybody circled around the two and started questioning.

"I've seen you two on the ceremonial day. You got full marks!" said a girl.

"AndI came one time in your room to see the freshmen... Everyone was chatting with eachother except two students in the back row, probably you two." interrupted a boy before the girl could continue "When i started walking towards you, the others said to not bother, why so?"

"Didn't you watch Bai Ling when we had P. E. with 8th grade last week, you perv? Another girl said to the boy next to her.

"N~no... Stop embarrasing me you moron!" the boy retorted with a red face in a whisper.

Unexpectedly Bai Ling laughed it off and didn't mind it at all.

"You were together in a class, right?" suddenly the boy turned to Ash. "I didn't see you at all in P. E."

"I didn't participare in the exercises." responded Ash blantly.

"What's your relationship with Bai Ling?" asked a girl in a teasing tone. Everyone knew that she only wanted to mess with Ash a bit.

"I'm her boyfriend." Ash responded without hesitation, just as if it was a reflex.

This shocked everybody. The way he said it so casually and his straight face...

Bai Ling on the other hand blushed when she heared his words. Her cheeks reddened from embarrasement and she wanted to say something, but before she could open her mouth, the history teacher came in.

He was stern and with high demands, not letting students even whisper in class.

Everybody immediately sat on their seats, not daring to even move.

The history teacher made a count of the students and noticed the two additions to the class.

He knew that Ash and Bai Ling skipped a year and slightly nodded to them.

Disapointment came faster that expected though, as Ash fell asleep again and Bai Ling wasnt paying attention at all, thinking about other things with a slight blush on her face.

The teacher went slowly to the last row, next to their desk and started to scold. "I understand that you skipped a grade and you feel superior to others, but in my class, no matter who you think you are, you must be awake and paying attention, otherwise you'll be counted as absent!"

One could see anger on his face.

"They dared sleep in his class? Man, they are finished!" some of the students whispered with sympathy.

"You needn't worry about it teacher." Ash responded with a cold, yet calm expression "Me and Ling already signed in for grade 10 and made the tests two days ago so you won't see us after this week."

The history teacher was dazzled. Looking at Bai Ling's careless expression, he was sure of it. "These kids are mad!"

It was already incredible enough to skip a grade after two weeks of school, but to skip another one just after being allocated to a new class was impossible, right?

Who would believe such a thing?

After a few seconds of blankly staring at the two kids infront of him, the history teacher got so angry that he almost started to fume.

Going to the class diary, he wrote something in it and started questioning a student.

"Who do tbey think they are..." he thought as he vented his anger on the poor student.

"Ash, I think he marked us as absent." Bai Ling whispered in the meantime.

"Who cares? We're here for a week anyway." Ash responded with a yawn before falling asleep again.

....

Last bell rang.

Another day passed... Another similar would come soon and maybe next time there would be a teacher to vomit blood out of anger.

No matter what though, Ash didn't and wouldn't care one bit about it.

Why bother with emotionally unstable people when you could spend your timr on something else.
