Witnessing the sunrise at 7,497 ft high in the summit of Mt Sinai. The view from the top was breathtaking and the journey was a true pleasure and adventure that Sheya will never forget.
3 hours of climbing, batting the heat and thirst was nothing compared to the serenity, tranquility and silence that she had experienced on the very same mountain where a Man named Moses stood and changed the course of history about 3000 years ago.
She laid on its ground, closed her eyes and breathe..
After that otherworldly experience, visibly hungry and exhausted, Abdel took Sheya in one of the well known restaurant and ordered Kushari for lunch. It was a dish of rice, macaron, lentils with garlic vinegar poured on it, topped with chickpeas and fried onions.
A tour of Cairo soon followed then a boat ride to see the beauty of the Red sea.
And what is travelling without shopping? Before ending the day, Abdel took her to a walk in Khan el- Khalili, a traditional bazaar where tourists and Egyptians alike could buy souvenirs, memorabilias, gifts and all kinds of equisite items from so many vendors and Sheya was so mesmerised by the rich culture and tradition of a country so ancient yet so real.
She went back in her hotel room and took a nice warm bath and generously poured the Egyptian oil and body balm she bought from the market, the same one used by Queen Cleopatra according to legends.
Sipping an Egyptian tea called Koshary, a mixture of mint leaves and sweet sugar cane, she finally had access to the internet and checked her mail.
A little message popped out from her messenger saying..
" I hope you are having a blast. Enjoy your travel, I will be here waiting for your answer when you return. I love you"- Toby
She breathed deep and laid on a silk bed, in deep thoughts she recalled the first time met Toby.."
