"It's hard to tell, there's too much wind."
"Now that I think about it, it does look a little thin."
"Hey, can you just, turn it off for a moment? You know, the wind?"
"It's pretty blurry, but I don't think it has arms..."
The figure in the vortex was now a little shy at all the prodding gazes, and began to twist around a little in nervousness. Though it had no idea what they were saying within its wind tunnel.
"H-hey, What are you talking about? Can't you see the majestic blue dragon?" Though Chen Ling could see him making eye signals to the beast, causing the vortex to thicken a little.
"Anyway! Qinglong's going to show you the difference between heaven and earth! With just your level, you're no match! Surrender now, before we smite you with the power of heavenly lightning!" He shouted big words that were slightly more threatening than his previous monologues. It appeared the scrutinizing eyes were getting to him.
"All you do is talk. Dragon or not, you're still gonna lose." Chen Ling had absolute confidence in Xiaohei. She too was also starting to see the form of a serpent with wings behind the vortex. She was also curious of the true form of the so called 'dragon', so when she had any doubt about the validity of his dragon, she was determined to see the truth.
"Xiaohei! I want to see what it looks like!" At her request, Xiaohei was already approaching the wind vortex.
"I would have taken care of this worm without you telling me too! To dare play with wind before me! This worm is courting death!" He gracefully leaped into the air before the wind clad figure, and swiped into the vortex with his little kitty paw.
All those watching was thinking the same thing: "What was that supposed to do???"
The little cat had swat into the vortex like it was a butterfly, would that really do anything? It was already a relief that he wasn't swept along the vortex after all.
But suddenly, the wind warped following the trail of his paw, and then the entire vortex abruptly twisted like tangled string, and the figure within was shot out like a child spitting out the food he refused to eat.
The vortex then dispersed before everyone's shocked eyes. The cloud still remained, but the figure under it was already blown into the distance.
"W-What was that Xiaohei! That was so cool!" Chen Ling marveled at Xiaohei's feat, and immediately asked him how he did it, as even though she shared his sense of touch, she couldn't possibly understand what happened.
"It was a mere simple task for me. All I did was slightly disrupt the wind it was controlling, which temporarily forced it out of its control. Thus being within such wind it could not control, the weakling worm was rejected from the vortex through its own power. Though I can't control the wind personally with my current strength, I am more than familiar enough to mess with it." He said smug and proudly. Recently, he hid less and less when he was praised, evidence of them becoming closer, which made Chen Ping happy within.
"Now enough with me, look upon the true form of your fake dragon!" He laughed, and the students could hear a boisterous "Nyahaha~!" sound from the small cat as it looked upon the fallen form of the so called 'dragon'.
Sure enough, there was a blue serpentine body with large fangs, leathery wings sprawled over the ground.
It still had the tough blue scales, formidable length, wide wings, and was still wreathed in currents of blue lightning, but the impact was lessened when they found out it was not a dragon. As expected of her glasses, the little glasses girl stepped up to the plate again.
"That's the Lightning Cloud Azure Sky Serpent! One of the many varieties of sky serpents! They reside in thunderclouds and can wield lightning with frightening proficiency! A typical flying beast would never wish to encounter a group of them! They typically move in swarms, so an individual should be weaker than a normal beast of the same level, but this one is bigger than usual, and has a distinctive crest! This means it's a lord class! This is something that only appears from pack animals! Stronger than normal members of their species, they usually stand out in their groups to become leaders! This doesn't happen with solitary beasts like tigers! In conclusion, although it's definitely not a dragon, it's still strong!" Her explanation was once again helpful and explained useful information that may or may not come into play later.
"With such a long name, it must be strong."
"Though it's no dragon, it's still pretty scary."
"Why was he calling it a dragon though?"
"Real dragons are almost impossible to get, he just wants to a four symbol beast title."
The hat kid, though the reveal wasn't that bad, and no one really cared, and still thought that the Lightning Cloud Azure Sky Serpent was pretty cool, was still pretty mad about gettin revealed like that. The Sky serpent as well had already risen, and hovered over the hat kid's head, glaring at Xiaohei while awaiting its next request.
"Grrh! So what if it's not a dragon! Qinglong is still strong! Qinglong, fry that cat!" Xiaohei had already stopped laughing and watched the sky serpent calmly. As long as it didn't attack first, he would not take the initiative to beat it up. But the sky serpent made no moves, only hovering quietly. It didn't really care that the children was disappointed it wasn't a dragon, the hat kid called him that on his own after all.
"Uuh... please?" The hat kid apparently had to say the magic word. Maybe his older sibling was trying to raise him better, but letting him borrow their contract beast to beat up other kids pets is not the way to go about it.
Indeed, the serpent then coiled in the air, and electricity gathered along its body. It's eyes glowed electric blue And the cloud above it began to swirl. The air seemed to stagnate and all the student felt their hairs on end as static rippled across the field, prompting some screams as the girls' hair were getting ruined.
In response, Xiaohei's red aura reared its head, and its pressure suppressed the static on himself and Chen Ling, preventing a hair disaster. He watched the sky serpent closely.
"Shaaaa!" It hissed aggressively and reared its head into the sky, lighting raced along the air, heading straight to Xiaohei, and striking him head on...
