Hades was more than satisfied with the Immortal Tyrant 8 paths, which gave him the strength to cleanly split the bird into pieces. He would not be able to do such a thing with just his body, as his range was only the same as the length of his claws.
The increase in ability certainly increased his confidence by leaps and bounds, but he couldn't help but become nervous at the sound of dozens of footsteps. Withy his sharp hearing he could hear at least a dozen humans, and several quadrupedal beasts of different varieties, and several flying beasts.
Fortunately they were still a distance away in several different directions. The steps were clear only due to the silence of the facility. Hades decided to kill this man and leave, he did not want to leave evidence of his appearance if he could help it.
He leaped down at the sole human below him, who had summoned a spear to intercept him. The human was noticeably afraid and in pain due to the damage to his soul from the death of his contract beast, but he knew there was no escape from this beast when wings extended from its back.
Wasn't that ridiculous? He could already kill his fire-tail hawk without leaving the beam on the ceiling, but now it could fly! This was like giving wings to a tiger! Oh wait...
Hades dived sharply. Even if he was not a bird, he was very experienced with this, as it was something he did often in the abyss. He nose dived toward the ground before spreading his wings and making a turn that was practically a right angle.
The guard couldn't respond in time and his spear was directly maneuvered through, and his chest torn to ribbons by pearl white claws shrouded with a coat of thick red aura.
With the man dead, he wasted no time in flapping up to the rafters and running toward the hole he made.
And then a loud noise like thunder rang, and a deep hole appeared on a rafter a small distance away.
What in hell was that? He had never seen such a thing in his life. It had approached in an instant and had terrible penetration ability. He looked back and saw a weird weapon that vaguely resembled a hook, but was bulkier, straighter, and had a hole in the end. He made the assumption that that was the weapon that fired.
He soon hear lots of commotion, the other humans ran over and scolded the one who fired. It appeared this fearsome weapon wasn't to be used lightly.
But the weapon did its part, and several humans arrived, several of which had flying beasts with them, which flew to intercept him.
He continued to the opening, but then a scarlet bird, bigger than the one before, and ordained with proud plumage, shot a bolt of fire that landed on the beam in front of him.
An explosion rang, and the beam was on fire and there was a hole before him. Usually this wouldn't stop him, as he had wings, but if he flew, he would instantly be at a disadvantage to these flying beasts.
He had no choice but to get rid of them first.
Several birds flew at him at once, all with frightening speed and a gleaming talon or beak.
He decided to hold nothing back, his tail lashed out, prime for group battles like this. The blade was already out, and the tyrant aura was present as well, further increasing its range and sharpness by a small margin.
Within seconds, many birds were left with large gashes, and several others had bumped into each other in the chaos. Though they were many, their coordination was lacking, and the rafters could only accommodate so many creatures with wide wingspans.
With their clumsiness as support, Hades felled several birds, bats, and winged lizards. A mere clip in the wing was more than enough to cripple them and force their 20 foot fall to the ground. And a deep strike could sever a their fragile avian bodies in 2.
All was well when he heard whistling noises through the air. He immediately changed positions to another rafter, and found that where he was previously standing was riddled with deep gashes, burns, and corrosion.
Projectiles? He were high up, and them a distance away, so they were not fast or accurate, simply numerous, yet still plenty dangerous.
His situation had worsened, still surrounded, uncountable projectiles came from below, forcing him to constantly switch beams. By now, over half the flying beasts were slain, but now the strongest remain, with much more space than before. His situation grew more perilous by the second.
Though slaughter was his expertise, and he had a strong body and the tyrant aura, he hadn't even completely entered the qi refining realm. There were also too many, as well as several soul refining realm cultivators and their beasts, with the rest being qi refining. It was already a remarkable feat to make it this far.
He had to take risks, he started with the flying beasts. Without hesitation he leaped in the air, he didn't dare show his wings lest he become a bigger target, and landed on the back of the bird with a fiery plume. From his observation, this one only had the ability of fire, and shouldn't be able to defend himself with it, unlike one's that used wind or ice.
The projectiles effectively diminished, they feared harming their own, as expected of this cowardly race, placing value in weird things like family and life.
From atop its back his claws fastened to its flesh, and his tail whipped wildly like a car dealership waving man. The hesitant beasts were instantly cut down, whether clipped wings, heavy wounds, or severed in two, all fell to the ground.
There were only a few flying enemies left now, and he would soon be free to flee, but what he was worried about came to fruition. The fire bird he mounted flew to the ground to surround him there. He could not allow such a thing, and directly torn his throat with his claw. He risked his wings to fly back up to the ceiling, careful of the projectiles that resumed after leaving the bird.
But his fears were founded and a familiar crack of thunder sounded, and one of his wings were pierced before he could return.
With an unwilling roar, the skull touting feline was fell. With a skillful roll, he landed unharmed to the ground, surrounded by several dozen furious enemies...
