Chapter 504 - Siege on Yongtein: Breakthrough (11)

Tiny specks of light then manifested from everything like the descent of a million fireflies! It was incredibly beautiful but mysterious too. No one knew quite how to react to this majestic sight. Everyone simply admired the dazzling scene in silence. The lights sparkled in a myriad of colors, which some people recognized as World Energy, except the amount of World Energy here was truly unimaginable. Gaseous Fog and Condensed Drop, these names were not just chosen at will. They were specifically chosen to reflect the quantity of Magic Energy that an Arcanist could wield. For example, whenever Elizabeth and Freon recovered Magic Energy, they drew very small, almost invisible wisps of World Energy from the air. This pitiful speed and efficiency increased as one advanced Core Levels from Gaseous Fog to Condensed Drop until finally Blue Depth. At this level, Protector Avin could siphon the World Energy from across an entire city into a gigantic rainbow vortex, leading to the heavenly phenomenon in Firecast. Therefore, the amount of energy present corresponded to the strength of the Arcanist.

That was why the current phenomenon was really bizarre! The two who initiated it, Elizabeth and Freon, were only at the Half-Condensed Drop Core Level and their Cores were pushed to the limit. Any greater exertion would put their lives at risk, and even if they could burn up all their World Energy, it would hardly hold a candle to the power of Protector Avin, a Blue Depth Arcanist. That was a divide of three Core Levels! It was not something two lives could bridge alone. Then, there was the matter of their spells. Bounded Wheel and Heavy Needle were High Gaseous Fog spells that Ten Dawn Iris knew very well. They would never, under any circumstances, merge without any sign of instability. This was an absolute fact that every Arcanist knew. In fact, attempting to do so would even lead to a backlash, and possibly death! Yet, the spell was not only stable, but the effect was extremely strong. Although these tiny specks of light might look simple, all of them had a horrific density of World Energy within. A single speck could fully restore a Gaseous Fog Arcanist, and there were hundreds, if not thousands, of them. The total energy reached a ridiculous amount. It might even be superior to Protector Avin's feat!

The hundreds of lights converged on Elizabeth and Freon, scaring the other Arcanists silly. If those two tried to absorb that much energy at once, forget a backlash. Their Cores would directly explode! Even Freon started to freak out! These developments were happening too fast, and he lacked the time to think! And sadly, despite his best efforts to regain control, the merged spell had already activated. It was too late to do anything! Only Elizabeth had an air of tranquility since she expected her master to do something. That said… She looked at the lights fearfully. This might be a bit too much World Energy. It was not going to kill them, right? Whoosh! The lights sunk into their bodies one by one, generating huge waves of World Energy inside their Channels and Core. What happened next could only be described as a divine miracle.

First, vast amounts of World Energy washed through their Channels, nourishing and rejuvenating every single pathway. One had to know that the network of Channels was a highly sophisticated system that spanned the entire body, much like the blood veins in a person's body. It was not something that could be trivially mapped in a short time. For instance, Ten Dawn Iris, hailed as the White Healer with her near-unparalleled Magic Perception, needed a few minutes, at the minimum, to find what she needed. If she wanted to fully map out a person's Channels, that estimate would increase ten-fold. It might be even outside of her capability; however, this spell could succeed with two people simultaneously. Elizabeth and Freon's backlashes were eliminated, and their Cores were restored, all in the blink of an eye.

Next, their wounds began to heal at a visible rate. These were not minor cuts or bruises that could heal in a week, but major, near-fatal injuries that would take months of rest, medication, and a team of physicians to oversee! Normal recovery methods, like the ones that Ten Dawn Iris provided, could only hasten the body's natural recovery rate. It could not fix the more severe injuries. The same went for the Sword King's Sipping Cloud and Protector Avin's heavenly phenomenon. They were not all-powerful healing methods. However, the current spell could heal the severest of injuries, both internally and externally. That was not all either, because their tattered and burnt clothes began to regenerate too! Elizabeth and Freon were stunned once again. This went beyond mere recovery. They never heard of a spell that could restore clothes! Freon almost dared to guess this was reversing time itself… No, he shook his head. That would be a ludicrous thought. Reversing time would be on the domain of gods! No one could do it!

The spell released one final burst that cleansed their entire mental state. All their stress, worries, and exhaustion built-up over the course of battle were thoroughly washed away. Not a single negative emotion remained! Going from exhausted to refreshed in an instant, anyone would feel scared, but even that was suppressed. It was like waking up from a long dream. Everything felt new and 'different' again. Elizabeth found it hard to describe, but she felt better than ever. She was at her peak! Boom! They fully circulated their Half-Condensed Drop Cores, releasing a gust of wind and a heavy aura at the same time. Although the process seemed slow, everything passed in a fraction of a second! Standing up, Elizabeth's beautiful crimson hair danced in the breeze as she regarded her enemies with a coldness that could freeze the soul. Everyone felt terrified when they met her gaze! She was like a goddess preparing her judgement. All things had to bow before her!

Ten Dawn Iris was about to question what had happened when their enemies, the Imperial Sentinels Mao and Feng, broke away from the Royal Guards to directly attack Elizabeth. Sir Winstin cursed his companions. They were likely distracted by the spectacle, giving their enemies the chance to act! Unfortunately, he was tied down by Sentinel Kong, so he could not intervene. This was a tough opponent! At the same time, more than twenty archers trained their bows on Elizabeth before loosing arrows. Two Perception Realm Experts, and more than twenty arrows descended on the girl. Everyone aimed to kill her and settle this battle quickly! As she faced this overwhelming monsoon of killing intent, she did not move, making people wonder if she had given up. However, a huge tsunami of flames soon assaulted them. The temperature was high enough to incinerate the incoming arrows and ward off the Imperial Sentinels. The flames disappeared to reveal Freon. He might not have the strongest presence normally, but right now, he radiated an aura of absolute confidence and power. Combined with his impeccable appearance, he looked like a legendary hero, preparing to sweep through the battlefield. His might was invincible!

"Please handle the rest, Ten Dawn Iris," Elizabeth said. This was also hinting her to keep her questions later. They had more urgent matters to deal with currently.

"Alright." With a deep breath, she finished casting using her recovery spell. As it faded and she felt the lingering pain in her body, she regarded Elizabeth and Freon wryly. She looked utterly incompetent! Nevertheless, the woman remained determined. She had to help the other Ten Dawns first!

Likewise, Freon wanted to ask a mountain of questions, but he restrained himself. He knew this was neither the time nor the place. He recovered, and that was it. Nothing else mattered. There were three Perception Realm Experts and hundreds of opponents before them. Furthermore, there was the large enemy force the vanguard was dealing with, and the potential threat from the other two flanks… Despite recovering, Freon felt that the overall odds did not shift much. Two people, especially those at the Half-Condensed Drop Core Level, could not overcome them all. Yet, he remained undaunted. To give up was to lose. Forget about the odds. He would do everything he could now! Only then, would he worry afterwards. Elizabeth seemed to share his thoughts as she raised her bow. She was still worried about her aunt, so she could not afford to hold back. She would kill anyone in her way! Their heavy auras once again radiated through the battlefield. If one were keen enough to notice, Elizabeth and Freon were currently very close to stepping into Condensed Drop finally. They were on the verge of making history!
