Chereads / The Ruler of Gilead / Intermission 2

Intermission 2

Guys, upfront, let me apologise for the impromptu break last week and this week. It's coming up to the end of the "review period" at work. So my time has gotten a lot busier preparing reports on my agents.

On top of everything else, it's my birthday week this week so I'm trying to decompress and relax while dealing with work. Is it possible? Not sure, I need a vacation soon (November).

I feel bad not releasing chapters as promised so here is another poem into the mind frame of the story concept.

Time Travel:

Scientists say that we look back in time each night we stare upon a star. As our lives burn so brightly shining with beauty. I may never see the origin of you nor how you came to be. But it's where you'll go, that I'm most interested to see.

They say that what we see is the travel of light. The imagery as it was when it happened. For what we see is delayed by a factor of time. Having only glimpsed your past as I struggle to understand your present. Know that no one can see your future, but you.

Take stock of who you are. Your value is immeasurable and unfathomable. No amount of machinery, research or deity can define you and what you are capable of. So look to your future, beyond what you see. Beyond that pain and struggle of now. Picture your future, picture your smile and see what you know is real.

Immortality:

The ancients would yearn for immortality. They would yearn to be remembered. To be immortalised, so that they would never be forgotten in the aeons of time. But aeons later we would evolve into immortality.

We created a space within space. A virtual world where we could live and never be forgotten. There our thoughts can be more than written but recorded for all to share. So worry not about being listed amongst the forgotten. Worry about HOW you will be remembered.

Mortality is a gift. It highlights the preciousness of the moments we share. The importance of the struggles we bear. Your time is precious, even if what you say will last forever. But your time is also important because what you say can last forever.

But now I will tell you something that should be common knowledge. Your soul is eternal. It is the everlasting character we share with our God. But this life is mortal. Our actions and deeds, recorded or not, will determine how we spend eternity.
