Carter stood silently for a moment digesting what the ancient learning program had said. She tapped her earpiece. " Colonel Sheppard, are you still in the chair?"
" Well I was going to the 7-11 for some beer and nachos, but yeah I can help you out" He said and chuckled. Carter smiled. " Return us to our previous course to rendezvous with Destiny please." She then tapped her earpiece a second time. " city wide please Dr Zalinka." She said. Attention all hands. We are going to resume course for Destiny. Docking crews please be sure the Asgardians ships on pylons 4 and 8 are properly maglocked to the hull. Zeus please report to the control room at your convenience." She said.
The Zaruphane ships seemed to slide to the right as the huge city altered it's course around them, then El Dorado slipped back into hyperspace. " Sensors. I want a continual scanning happening back along our course. If those Zaruphane continue the chase or get new friends to help I don't want suprised a second time." As she finished speaking she saw Zeus approaching and went to meet with him. they had much to discuss.
Carter and Zeus stood inside one of the asgard ships. Carter recognized the interior after having been on Thor's ship a few times. She glanced around as Zeus led her to a door flanked by something she had never seen before. Two asgard soldiers in some kind of armored suit and carrying weapons.
" Zeus this is unusual for Asgard, isn't it" She curiously asked him. " Indeed Dr Carter but to protect what is inside this door we felt it necessary." Zeus waved his arm in midair left to right in front of the door and it opened with several deep thinks, and slowly slide open. As the door opened Carter could tell that it was heavily armored and locked into place by dozens of electromagnetic cross locking bars. Carter gasped in shock when the rooms lights flashed on. In the center of the room was a glowing green field of some sort. Behind that field sat the familiar figure of a spider shaped replicator. Under the field sat another familiar object. An identical replica to the ancient machine found in Atlantis that had been used to create the ancients original version of their replicators. On one of the sides of the room were a small bank of 6 stasis Chambers. All were empty but two. Zeus led her across the room to these Chambers. Zeus pointed to the left most chamber. " This is a member of the Zaeuphane,." He said. " This is a Zaruphane replicator." he said pointing to the other one. Then he continued. " During our research into methods of fixing or bypassing our races biological problems with our Bodies, we discovered something truly amazing. You know that the ancients were partially successful with their replicators experiment. They had only turned hostile after their own creators had turned on them. As I was saying we discovered that not only was it possible to replicate ourselves, but we also discovered how to transfer the living consiousness from an asgard host to an asgard replicated body. Not only did the resulting replicator become as one of us, it became unmistakable from the original donor." As he was speaking another asgard entered the room." Greetings Dr Carter. I am Poseidon." He said. Zeus motioned to Poseidon. " This is that replicated body and transferred consiousness I mentioned." He said." Poseidon's body had become unstable due to our disease. We think because he was the oldest of us. We made these discoveries just in time so as to not loose another valuable member of our race to this malady." Zeus said.
Poseidon held out his hand to Dr Carter. Noticing her brief hesitation, he spoke. " I assure you Dr Carter, I am myself. Just in a stronger and more hearty body than before. These replicator bodies had been designed and programmed to not use or be able to use it's replicating functions. They had also had the hive mind behavior removed and other additions to the program been made to facilitate our operating individually as a part of the race instead of a group." Carter, slightly embarrassed over her hesitation, reached out and shook Poseidon's small hand. " Dr Carter please report to control." Came a voice over her earpiece. Carter sighes. " We can talk more about this amazing breakthrough later Zeus.," She said and ran from the lab and down the hallway outside.
Minutes later she stepped back into the control room.
