"This metro always so late!", I cursed to myself. Its is always fifteen minutes late from the first stop. Oh I forgot to introduce myself, I am Samayan Das , 21, single, A student of Bachelor of arts in creative writing and like every typical kolkata's guy I am addicted to three things food, books and politics.
The guys of kolkata are totally stark different from the whole world. Generally when guys meet discuss? Girls, games. But here in kolkata people start their conversation with food then turns to books and then to politics and if there remains some time after all this conversation then they would discuss about girls. Odd right? I agree.
Back to my present situation, I was returning from diamond park after meeting some old friends and waiting at the metro station to go to my home at Barrack pore with a bag in my back earphones in ear and with a book in my hand.
"Ah! The train finally arrived" I sighed to myself. I entered the train and let me tell you in my 15 years of travelling in metro I never ever got an empty seat but today I got a empty seat for the first time right next to the Women's reserved seat.
The train started and I was drowsing to the sound of Ed Sheeran when suddenly someone tapped in my head, "Hey,I think I can adjust in that seat if you put your leg down" She said cheerfully. I was dazed suddenly hearing the sound of a girl and looked up and saw a pretty girl with light brown hair and a cute face about my age. I was a bit awe stuck after seeing her so after two seconds she asked again in that same cheerful but with a hint of annoyance, " Hey didn't you hear me, can I please sit here?''. This time I was alert and replied , "Yeah, sure". She sat next to me and said, "Hi, you're reading a nice book can I know its name?" I replied my eyes totally awed by her divine face, "Its looking for Alaska by John Green". she replied, "Ah! Is it the same writer as of The fault in our stars?", I replied, "Yeah, you're right".
She asked, " If you're not busy right now can you give me a small summary of this book, I am really a huge fan of John Green but I have don't have enough time". I smirked and asked, " Why, what happened had you got a boyfriend who doesn't let you read books?". She laughed, " Hell No, But by the way why did you ask , do I look like a girl who have a boyfriend?". I replied, " Well you have quite good looks so I thought you might have a boyfriend". She smiled and said, "Thanks for the compliment but I am single, but enough about me tell me about yourself?".I replied, "Well I am a guy, born and brought up in Kolkata, I am studying Creative writing, I am single, had past two heartbreaks not intrested in relationships anymore". She was in deep thought after hearing all this and asked, "Well, can I ask some question?"
I replied, "Yeah go on start asking?". She replied, "Can I know why you broke up twice?".I replied, "both of them cheated on me". She said, " Oh I am sorry". I replied, "Its okay don't worry, Now tell me about yourself". I was still in awe of her face how beautiful her face was like the god's own hand had created it made me believe all over again plastic surgery can't beat the hands of god. " Well….. oh that's my station, I could tell you just one thing I am suffering from progressive paralysis and I am going to die two weeks and I want a small favor from you write about me". she got up from her seat and moved to the opening door. I was dumb struck after hearing this so I called behind her, "Hey, wait where are you going ,I don't even know your name or who are you and how will you know I wrote about you?" .She turned around smiled at me and said , " It's Avantika" and disappeared into the crowd.
I am writing this to let her know I completed my promise and if there exist something called love at first sight its with her. I did my part but I just want to meet her for one last time to tell her how special she made me felt that moment. I don't know if she's alive or dead or here in Kolkata but somewhere else wherever you may be hope you're well. My journey to search for her starts now.
