Chapter 84 - The War Minds Complaints

The War mind stretched the muscles of its puppet body. Everything but the head had been his before his head had been removed from its shoulders. The head and eyes he was seeing through had belong to someone else. The muscles in his face felt off. He was unsure if it was because it was someone else's face or because the hole body was a corpse.

He looked at the jar he was told hold his head picked it up and shook it. He felt his jar shake and as his head smacked the side of the jar. He placed it back down.

"It is really strange to hold your own head," thought the war mind.

"Your body is mostly unchanged," thought the mind of a soldier.

"And is not missing any pieces," replied the mind of a craftsmen.

"The efficiency of Scab and its siblings is always impressive," replied the war mind. "Bodies aside I have to figure out logistics for this operation."

"We will think on this later," thought a dozen other minds in jars.

The War mind placed his jar on a shelf inside a walking building. He walked up to the lab were the master of the hoard worked. He nocked on the door before entering to see the pail man. He wore a cloak covered in moon stones. His body that was mostly pail was straked with black marks. On the table in front of him was a rat. It was unconscious but its body was changing. A large albino rat looked on from nearby.

"You and the rats requested human hands," thought the mage. "What are you here for?"

"You won't speak normally?" asked the War mind.

"I've stopped my heart and breathing to slow the spread of the unlife," thought the mage. He turned to look at the War minds Puppet. His eyes were read but one was a bulging red gemstone. "What brings you here. I could have heard you from anywhere."

"I like to make inquiries in person," declared the War ind. "This mobilization is hasty. It will cause huge problems."

"We have no time," responded the mage. "Half of us including myself need to kill to live. Humans and large animals will feed us better. The prisoners are our best source of food and we will find no more here. Few of my creatures are specialized to hunt the forests enough to provide for the rest and that would lead to horrendous over hunting."

"We can't stay two weeks?" asked the War mind.

"I said I stopped breathing right," responded the mage. "I'm still technically alive but I can't keep this up forever. I have about a month left. If we don't start now, we are not going to make it before I die. The chances are good that I will not stay dead and only the hatred will remain. My little concern for the moons balance will likely go away. Only hatred for all life will remain. I cannot allow that. You are needed to help me achieve my revenge before it comes to that."

"One way or another the queen will die huh?" asked the War mind.

"What the star mage fears is I will exact my revenge on the entire world," responded the mage. "If we fail I will."

"I better get back to work then," declared the war mind.

"I will leave the distribution of gunpowder and muskets to you," declared the mage. "Use that as you will to help organize."
