Xuan Mu turned around even though he knew he wouldn't get a real answer.
"Nobody knows," the chief sighed, "She shouldn't have appeared there. The tribulation she went through also shouldn't have happened. There's a theory that she has drawn the attention of an evil spirit that allowed her entry into that place. What kind of spirit could possibly have that much influence?"
"Already crossed out the Demon King," said Xuan Mu, leaving the office after a short curtsy. Before he learned about the old chief's deep love for the HQ, he thought this funny old guy was kept in this office against his will.
Despite the secrecy, the level of cooperation and harmony the HQ achieved surpassed anything humanly or even godly possible. It was a society that seemed close to perfection, full of hidden freaks with great powers.
