This piece was created last year for a literature class. The prompts was to show the five senses. The reference for the story of this piece wasn't mine but my friend's and I just turned it to a poem (according to her request). Anyway, enjoy reading.

"Love is sweeter the second time around."
Never saw such an unexpected event,
Us, being together again
But let's not start from the end,
Rather the beginning of all that had happened.
Another summer came,
But this one's the shiniest,
Mutual feelings, puppy love,
Holding hands and falling deeper in love.
But then, a big drawback came and caused a loud uproar,
Assuming that we both think of our holding hands.
But then, the "us" that I thought won't waver
Became the "me," forcing our slipping hands to be together.
And now, I'm left with a bittersweet memory,
Salty tears and a wounded heart
The love that was once sweet,
Became an allergy to me.
Bravely, you tried to fix me, putting band-aids on my swollen wounds,
And for the second time, I fell hardly.
With the knowledge that I might silently cry myself to sleep again,
But now, I came prepared and believes that love is sweeter the second time around.
