Chapter 18 - your whole face is a joke!

Lexi tilts her head pretending that she was confused by the shocked expression that was plastered across Che Diayu's face. In her mind, Lexi finds her reaction funny as she knew that Che Diayu didn't saw her change coming.

"Diayu?" snapping her old 'friend' to reality, Lexi audibly called out.

"Uh, sorry. I spaced out -- you know, lack of sleep due to work. So, who are you meeting here?" Che Diayu instantly recovered from her shock as she diverts their conversation back to Lexi again. She added; "it's not CEO Liu, right?"

"Sadly, it's not. I am just here to unwind." Lexi calmly answers as she takes her cup of tea and slowly took a sip. She deliberately just answer and didn't ask back to indirectly shoo Che Diayu away. Alas, Che Diayu won't seem to take notice or probably, just feigning ignorance about that fact.

"Here? I remember you don't like this place as you think that the food served here doesn't pass your standard." Che Diayu's brows raised as she recalled Lexi's words from the past.

"People change." still keeping her classy demeanor, Lexi spats in a trivial tone which made Che Diayu slowly nods in acknowledgment yet, her expression tells otherwise. Thinking about another topic, Che Diayu's eyes beam as she found a thing to flaunt towards her.

"Well, if you're curious why I am here, it's because I have a date!" she claimed -- even though Lexi isn't interested about her reason why she was here. After all, this is a restaurant and every elite can go there to eat without any other reason.

'No one's interested, chu! How annoying!' Churu sassed as her face had an ugly expression just looking at the intruder who interrupts their mission.

'I know right. Can't you do something like a whisper on her ears for her to leave?' Lexi inquired inwardly thinking of ridiculous ways to scat the annoying lady prattling in front of her.

'If only I can, I already spill this water to her, chu!' Churu was fuming mad as she attempts to kick the glass of water on the table to Che Diayu's direction but sadly, she can't as her little foot was just going through the glass.

'Are you a ghost or something?' since Lexi wasn't interested in Che Diayu's story, she might as well just talk to Churu telepathically as it is more fun than hearing Che Diayu's boastful words.

'I told you I'm a fairy, chu!'

'Fairy… huh, though you can fly, where are your wings?' despite that Lexi's inquiry was spouted without exerting much IQ, she still found her question silly. Alas, Lexi can only be this silly and show her no-brainer question to Churu -- her only real friend who won't judge her and treat her with pretense.

"Wings are not important, chu! Even without them at least I can still fly!" Churu justified her side as she placed her hands on her round waist.

Seeing her all defensive, Lexi can't help but let out a light giggle. Alas, her actions stop the talking Che Diayu who was being ignored.

"What's so funny Lexi? Did I say something funny?"

'You look funny, chu! Your whole face is a joke!' Churu dissed taking advantage of the fact that the person she was referring cannot hear her.

"No, no. I was just reminded of something funny I saw a few days ago. I'm sorry." Lexi almost burst out laughing hearing Churu's mischievous words but, she held it in as she excused her seemingly rude action. She added, "you were saying?"

Che Diayu's brows raised as if she sees Lexi as a weird person now and not the cruel girl she used to tail. Clearing her throat, she repeated her words. "I said, I am going to a date with the new and added to the list of the most eligible bachelor of the country; Wren Tanaka."

For a moment, Lexi was stunned and cannot believe her ears by the words Che Diayu uttered. Hence, she repeated to confirm, "with who?"

"Wren Tanaka. The CEO of L-Tech innovative financing company!" Che Diayu gladly announced seeing the surprise expression on Lexi's face.

'Huh, envious now?' Che Diayu mocked inwardly as a subtle smirk form on the corners of her lips.
